“Somerville-based 3D printer maker Formlabs will begin accepting the digital currency Bitcoin on its e-commerce site this week, the company announced at the 2014 International CES on Tuesday. Formlabs, maker of the $3,299 Form 1 3D printer, also announced on Tuesday the release of a new printing software, PreForm. The software aims to make 3D printing ‘easier than ever,’ and allows users to easily and quickly prepare digital models for 3D printing. The Form 1 printer uses stereolithography technology to achieve resolutions traditionally only available from 3D printers costing tens — or hundreds — of thousands of dollars, the company says.”
