“The Tulving Company, one of the first names many people think of when recommending bullion dealers, shut down on March 3, 2014, and declared bankruptcy a week later. By itself, that would be big news. But by my calculations, when they shut down, they owed upwards of 1,000 customers about $40M.  In August, 2011 they claimed an inventory of silver worth $25,000,000. Today, their inventory is worth less than $50,000, and they may owe as much as $40,000,000. How in the world could that have happened?”

The government will freeze some wage increases, significantly raise taxes and increase energy prices by a considerable margin.”

Americans Can Still Benefit from Tax Havens

“There is a silver lining, however, and that is the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (FEIE).  What is it and how does it work?  If you qualify for the FEIE you can exclude a not-insignificant amount of foreign earnings from your US taxable income. This amount is adjusted annually for inflation and is set at US$97,600 for 2013.  So, assuming that you qualify for the FEIE, you can exclude up to US$97,600 of your foreign earned income (for 2013) from your US taxable income. Keep in mind that you still have a tax liability to the country in which you reside and earned the foreign income.  That is unless you earn your income in one of these 18 countries that have no personal income tax.”

Researchers Find NSA Planted Two Spy Tools through RSA

“Both tools were part of RSA’s BSafe software security package, and both are assumed to have provided back-door access to communications and software encrypted with BSafe tools.  The Reuters news agency reported Monday that a team of academic researchers from several universities, including Johns Hopkins, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Illinois, has discovered the NSA was involved with the second tool. It’s called an ‘Extended Random’ extension, and it can be used to crack the RSA’s Dual Elliptic Curve random number generator software — the other NSA developed tool that had been withdrawn — tens of thousands of times faster than other methods.”

CIA misled public on interrogation program, Senate report says

“A Senate committee report concludes that the CIA misled the government and the public about aspects of its brutal interrogation program for years — concealing details about the severity of its methods, overstating the significance of plots and prisoners, and taking credit for critical pieces of intelligence that detainees had in fact surrendered before they were subjected to harsh techniques.  The report, built around detailed chronologies of dozens of CIA detainees, documents a long-standing pattern of unsubstantiated claims as agency officials sought permission to use — and later tried to defend — excruciating interrogation methods that yielded little, if any, significant intelligence.”

UN Condemns America on Human Rights Violations
