Unfortunately for Leverett, budget cutbacks have left several local police stations unmanned except for certain specific hours. He first tried police headquarters, only to find it deserted. Next he tried a sub-station located on Tucson’s ‘Miracle Mile.’ It, too, was locked and dark.
