“‘We believe this officer, Sgt. Scott A. Greene, has been targeting Hispanic motorists and stealing cash from them during traffic stops,’ District Attorney Spota said. ‘We set up a sting to catch him in the act and that’s exactly what happened last night.’ A press conference will be held today in Hauppauge, where the District Attorney will show a video excerpt of the officer searching the vehicle and taking cash from an envelope in the vehicle. Greene, of Shirley, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in district court today to charges of petty larceny and official misconduct. Judge Paul Hensley released the defendant on his own recognizance.”
