US nationals ‘under siege’; citizen dies at Border Patrol checkpoint

“Civil liberties advocates told Al Jazeera Sunday that U.S. citizens — like their undocumented counterparts — are under siege in what they said is becoming a police state around the border, after the death of a male U.S. citizen in Border Patrol custody at a checkpoint 20 miles from the border with Mexico.  since 2005, 42 people have died while in Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection custody — according to an investigation by the Arizona Republic — ‘none of which have led to a transparent investigation by the government.’ Of those who died, 13 were American nationals like Keith.”

Morell.   Obama quickly indicated his rejection of some of the panels’ recommendations. Meanwhile, everyone should make sure they have a print copy and a screen shot of their latest financial statements on hand. People should consider holding assets in a less conventional place than large and ‘trusted’ financial institutions.”

Obama Amends the Constitution By Statute

“The PPACA authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to make a proposal if the IPAB board does not do so by a set date. As with the board, if Congress does not provide an alternative to that proposal, then the Secretary is authorized to implement it unilaterally, and with appropriated funds if necessary. (Presumably, the funds would come from Medicare.) In short, a panel of 15 experts will assume the unprecedented power of making federal law and changing laws previously enacted by Congress. Or one woman will: Secretary of HHS Kathleen Sebelius.”
