General Robotics’ Ferret under-vehicle robot-camera deployed at RNC

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/20120218-221136.jpg

“The Secret Service used the robotic camera for under-vehicle scanning of buses that transported delegates to the convention from nearby parking lots. As the buses arrived, they were checked by a large mobile X-ray system called a Vehicle and Cargo Inspection System (VACIS), after which they proceeded to a different location where the canines would sniff them. If a dog detects something, it is trained to sit, signaling security personnel that further investigation is needed. At this point, the Ferret would be deployed to scan underneath the bus.”

Glenn Greenwald: Obama’s justice department grants final immunity to Bush’s CIA torturers

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/anti-torture-protest-0061.jpg

“The Obama administration‘s aggressive, full-scale whitewashing of the ‘war on terror’ crimes committed by Bush officials is now complete. Thursday, Attorney General Eric Holder announced the closing without charges of the only two cases under investigation relating to the US torture program: one that resulted in the 2002 death of an Afghan detainee at a secret CIA prison near Kabul, and the other the 2003 death of an Iraqi citizen while in CIA custody at Abu Ghraib.”

Anthony Gregory: The Right & the Drug War

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/maryj2.jpg

“Drug laws expose the tension within the conservative movement: devoted to localism and nationalism, freedom and law and order, today’s conservatives, if they are to mount a meaningful resistance to the unrestrained bureaucracy in Washington, D.C., must choose between their conflicting values. Many on the Tea Party right have come to regard the Bush-created Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as clumsy and despotic. They cling proudly to their guns and religion. They worry about their privacy in the face of a relentlessly growing central state. But it was the drug war that first shredded the Bill of Rights in modern times.”

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/825944271.jpg

“Taxpayers directly contributed $18,248,300 million to the Republican and Democratic national committees, or a total of $36.5 million, to hold their presidential nominating conventionsin Election 2012. They gave similar amounts to the parties in 2008.  In addition, Congress set aside $50 million for security at each of the party conventions in 2012, for a total of $100 million. The total cost to taxpayers of the two national party conventions in 2012 exceeded $136 million.”

Paul Craig Roberts: The Republicans Cross The Rubicon

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/withkitties_150_1202.jpg

“How can the American people trust the Republicans with the awesome power of the executive branch when the Republican Party just finished demonstrating for all to see its Stalinist qualities by crushing the anti-war, anti-police state wing of its party?  Are Americans aware that the hubris and idiocy of their political leaders have now saddled Americans with the burden of two number one enemies, both well equipped with armies and nuclear weapons? Only Iran can be happy about this as it moves Iran off the front burner.”

Ron Paul: A Republic, Not a Democracy

“Last week marked the conclusion of the grand taxpayer funded spectacles known as the national party conventions.  Sadly, the Constitution and its protections are respected less and less as we have quietly allowed our constitutional republic to devolve into a militarist, corporatist social democracy. Laws are broken, quietly changed and ignored when inconvenient to those in power while others in positions to check and balance do nothing. The protections the founders put in place are more and more just an illusion. This is why increasing importance is placed on the beliefs and views of the president.”

Norman Dodd On Tax Exempt Foundations (1982)

“Norman Dodd was interviewed in 1982 by G. Edward Griffin regarding the time he spent as the head researcher for the Reece Committee.  This is a truly eye opening look into what the tax exempt foundations are doing in the United States – their attempt to merge the Soviet System of Government with the USA.”

Is It Too Late for an Obama-Romney Ticket?

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/logo1.gif

“As the campaign develops, voters are sure to come to the realization that when it comes to political and economic philosophy, there is absolutely no difference between Romney and Obama, just as there isn’t any fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives.  So, why not an Obama-Romney ticket? Sure, it wouldn’t solve America’s woes, but neither will electing one or the other of them. At least it would spare the country the boredom, anguish, and expense of the next two months of the campaign.”
