Glenn Greenwald: US investigates possible WikiLeaks leaker for ‘communicating with the enemy’

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/An-Iraqi-man-reads-newspa-0062.jpg

“A US air force systems analyst who expressed support for WikiLeaks and accused leaker Bradley Manning triggered a formal military investigation last year to determine whether she herself had leaked any documents to the group. Air Force investigative documents, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, show that the analyst was repeatedly interviewed about her contacts with and support for WikiLeaks – what investigators repeatedly refer to as the ‘anti-US or anti-military group’ – as well as her support for the group’s founder, Julian Assange.”

Clinton Pledges $45 Million in Aid to Al Qaeda in Syria

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Libyan_Terrorists_In_Syria2.jpg

“Hillary Clinton is handing millions in cash to known Al Qaeda terrorists, on the heels of these terrorists claiming one of her own ambassadors in the middle of LIFG’s terror emirate – this while the West berates Iran for supporting the government of Syria as it attempts to defend itself against what is clearly a foreign invasion, not a popular uprising.  While it may seem an act of unhinged insanity – it is not. It only seems ‘insane’ if one believes the narratives spun by Western politicians who are attempting to sell their agenda from various, not always mutually conducive angles.”

US calls Assange ‘enemy of state’

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/assange-vd-408x2642.jpg

“The US military has designated Julian Assange and WikiLeaks as enemies of the United States – the same legal category as the al-Qaeda terrorist network and the Taliban insurgency.  Declassified US Air Force counter-intelligence documents, released under US freedom-of-information laws, reveal that military personnel who contact WikiLeaks or WikiLeaks supporters may be at risk of being charged with ‘communicating with the enemy’, a military crime that carries a maximum sentence of death.”

Be Very Careful, Beloved Spain

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Spain_2291522b-460x288.jpg

“Do [those advocating military actions] speak for the Armed Forces? One assumes not. One awaits a categorical denial from King Juan Carlos, from premier Mariano Rajoy, and from the cupula of the Armed Forces that such a course of action is being considered.  The Draghi bond plan can certainly put off the day of reckoning. It can lower borrowing costs across the board and cushion the slump. But it cannot in itself stop the slow asphyxiation of these societies. We are moving from the financial phase of this crisis to the full-blown political phase. It really is playing out like the 1930s.”

‘Every Person Is Afraid of the Drones’: The Strikes’ Effect on Life in Pakistan

“Interviews with people living through the drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal areas are human reminders that America’s drone campaign affects not only those hit by missiles, whether rightly or wrongly, but also innocents all around them.  Our drones are attacking the community where they live.  The American public is told by the Obama Administration that drone strikes are surgical. Precise. That they ‘limit collateral damage.’ And that civilian casualties are rare. Is that the truth?  Does it adequately capture reality?  Ponder a few interviews from the report — decide for yourself.”

Fighting The Terrorists By Terrorizing The Innocent

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/usdrone_afp6701.jpg

“A devastating report I’ve just read, ‘Living Under Drones: Death, Injury, and Trauma to Civilians from US Drone Practices in Pakistan’.  This thing is required reading.  This isn’t some half-assed, crazed droolings of some hippy-dippy Lefty twerp who ought to get a bath and a haircut: This was written by Stanford and New York University lawyers—and it shows. It’s clearly and devastatingly written, with the facts, testimony and evidence so scrupulously laid out that it’s almost like the brief for the prosecution of the war crimes trial that we can only pray will one day take place.”

Official Report of Israeli Assassinations in Iran

“U.S. officials are openly saying some things about Israel’s participation in assassinations and sabotage inside Iran that they haven’t said publicly before. This publicity accompanies leaks that Obama will remove MEK from its terror list.  MEK has sought to rehabilitate and/or muddy up its image and become a ‘pro-democracy’ group in Iran, presumably to be supported by the Western powers in their efforts to change the Iranian form of government. This means that it can continue terrorism but it will be Western terrorism.”

Fury at the American Raj

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/margolis1.jpg

“The angry demonstrations still flaring across the Muslim world are not a manifestation of some primitive Muslim fanaticism or free-form detestation of the West. They are a volcanic eruption of anger at America. They are not terrorism or religious fanaticism, though numbers of religious fanatics are indeed involved. They are anti-Americanism in full flame. What we call ‘terrorism’ is in many cases virulent anti-Americanism aroused by our domination of the Muslim world – which has been battling first European, then American domination for the past two centuries.”

As Italy Sentences 23 CIA Agents in Rendition Case, Obama Refuses To Prosecute Over Torture

“Italy’s High Court has upheld the sentences of 23 CIA operatives convicted of kidnapping a Muslim cleric under the U.S. program of “extraordinary rendition.” The cleric, Abu Omar, was seized from the streets of Milan in 2003 and taken to U.S. bases in Italy and Germany before being sent to Egypt, where he was tortured during a four-year imprisonment. The Americans were all convicted in absentia after the United States refused to hand them over. The ruling marks the final appeal in the first trial anywhere in the world involving the CIA’s practice of rendering terror suspects to countries that allow torture.”
