“According to an announcement this month by Taner Yildiz, Turkey’s energy minister, Kurdish cross border trade will be allowed to increase rapidly, with crude being traded for petroleum products to be used in the Kurdish enclave. This trade flourished before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 and was allowed to continue until 2007, when it was stopped following protests from the Iraqi government.  The KRG has ignored Baghdad and signed production sharing contracts with more than 40 operating companies.” [Iraq: an imposed state with fictional borders.]
