NYPD sergeant Fritz Glemaud promoted despite 16 civil rights lawsuits

“An NYPD sergeant who has been named in a staggering 16 civil rights lawsuits costing the city more than $300,000 in payouts has received a meritorious promotion and salary increase, the Daily News has learned.  Sgt. Fritz Glemaud of the scandal-scarred Brooklyn North Narcotics unit received the discretionary promotion to ‘sergeant supervisor detective squad’ last week from Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly. With his prestigious new title, Glemaud, 42, gets an approximately $14,000 bump in salary from $100,531 to $114,474 — essentially the pay rate for the higher rank of lieutenant.”
