
“I left Zurich and flew via Madrid into Medellin, Colombia. The purpose of my trip was to meet some mining professionals to discuss investing in certain gold mining concessions – most of which were located in rather remote areas of Colombia. I have been doing business in Colombia – mostly mining related – since the early 2000s when Alvaro Uribe took office and consider Alvaro and his family to be friends. What he did to help Colombians advance their war-torn country is no less than remarkable. But little did I know when I stepped off that plane in Medellin that this gold adventure was going to turn in a totally different direction – one that I could never have imagined.”
