Soldiers will be able to run at Olympic speed and won’t need food or sleep with gene technology

“Tomorrow’s soldiers could be able to run at Olympic speeds and will be able to go for days without food or sleep, if new research into gene manipulation is successful.  According to the U.S. Army’s plans for the future, their soldiers will be able to carry huge weights, live off their fat stores for extended periods and even regrow limbs blown apart by bombs.  The plans were revealed by novelist Simon Conway, who was granted behind-the-scenes access to the Pentagon’s high-tech Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency.”

DHS To Purchase Another 750 Million Rounds Of Ammo

“The Department of Homeland Security is planning to buy a further 750 million rounds of ammo in addition to the 450 million rounds of hollow point bullets already purchased earlier this year. The DHS recently put out an order for riot gear in preparation for the upcoming DNC, RNC and presidential inauguration. The U.S. Army is also busy buying similar equipment.  The DHS also recently purchased a number of bullet-proof checkpoint booths that include ‘stop and go’ lights.”

Secret Service announces RNC security restrictions, road closures

Lost jet skier wanders through JFK airport security

“A man whose jet ski died in the waters of Jamacia Bay near JFK International Airport was charged with trespassing Saturday night after he swam to shore, hopped a fence and walked straight up to an airport terminal without the facility’s complex security apparatus making even a single attempt to stop him.  The airport’s $100 million perimeter security system, put together by defense contractor Raytheon Corporation, was specifically designed to prevent this very type of intrusion with an array of motion detectors and cameras littering areas near runways.”

Thou Shalt Not Torture — Without the State’s Permission

“Melvin and Pauline Morse of Georgetown, Delaware, have been charged with four felony counts of child abuse. Their 11-year-old daughter has accused her father of repeatedly waterboarding her as a form of punishment. The mother allegedly witnessed these incidents and did not intervene.  This is not the first time a parent has been accused of using that torture method as a form of punishment. One press account notes that waterboarding is ‘a form of torture banned in the United States.’ This is true only as applied to private citizens.”

Do Citizens Have the Responsibility to Protect the Police?

“Beverly Mutrie of Greenland, New Hampshire is being sued by four police officers who were wounded during an April 12 shootout at the home of her late son, Cullen – who was killed in the gunfight.  Mrs. Mutrie’s only connection to the events of April 12 is the fact that she owned the home where the shootout took place. Police have no enforceable legal duty to protect individual citizens. But some of them apparently believe citizens are legally obligated to protect them.”

Minnesota Wrong Door Raid

“A St. Paul, Minnesota family claims in a lawsuit that police officers who conducted a wrong-door raid on their home shot their dog, and then forced their three handcuffed children to sit near the dead pet while officers ransacked the home. The lawsuit, which names Ramsey County, the Dakota County Drug Task Force, and the DEA, and asks for $30 million in civil rights violations and punitive damages after a wrong-door raid, also claims that the officers kicked the children and deprived one of them of her diabetes medication.”
