But is lying about the size of a fish a felony? It is in Texas– a state afflicted with a government that displays a gift for criminalizing practically everything.  Seven participants in a Texasfishing tournament, including a guide, have been accused of lying about the size of their catch. Under a measure enacted a few years ago, each of them faces the prospect of ten years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.”

Now TSA agents are testing drinks purchased INSIDE the airport

“Travelers’ angst is being taken up a notch now that TSA agents are adding yet another seemingly arbitrary security check at airports. The federal agency is now deploying its staff to test beverages purchased by travelers after they were screened at the security checkpoint. Video from the Columbus, Ohio Airport, uploaded to YouTube on Monday, show security personnel canvassing a departure gate, asking people at random if they could check their drinks for explosives.”

“A woman who had passed through airport security in Houston was detained by the Transportation Security Administration and forbidden to board the plane as punishment for exhibiting a ‘bad attitude.’  The TSA, which apparently exists in order to provide gainful employment for deviants and petty criminals, recently began a policy of testing beverages for explosives. This includes bottled drinks and coffee purchased by airline customers inside secure areas of airports.”

“…Philadelphia airport police received an anonymous call that named a passenger on the Dallas/Fort Worth bound Flight 1267. The ‘tipster’ told police that the passenger was in possession of a dangerous substance, which prompted authorities to recall the flight about 10 minutes after it departed.  The usual hysteria continued when the police-state called in ‘bomb technicians’ — plural. They also arrested the poor slob the ‘tipster’ fingered, but Our Rulers apparently have determined he did nothing wrong. Philadelphia Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan said that someone played ‘a pretty nasty trick’ on that passenger.”

Feds seize gold coins worth $80 mln from Pennsylvania family

“A federal judge has upheld a verdict that strips a Pennsylvania family of their grandfather’s gold coins — worth an estimated $80 million — and has ordered ownership transferred to the US government.  Judge Legrome Davis of the Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania affirmed a 2011 jury decision that a box of 1933 Saint-Gaudens double eagle coins discovered by the family of Israel Switt, a deceased dealer and collector, is the property of the United States.”

Jobless Greeks Resolved to Work Clean Toilets in Sweden

“The number of Greeks seeking permission to settle in Sweden, where there are more jobs and a stable economy, almost doubled to 1,093 last year from 2010, and is on pace to increase again this year.  Greece is in its fifth year of recession, with the economy expected to contract 6.9 percent this year, the same as in 2011, according to the Athens-based Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research. Since 2008, the number of jobless has more than tripled to a record 1.22 million as of June, out of a total population of 10.8 million.”
