U.S. ‘coordinates weapon deliveries’ to Syria rebels: Russia

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Syrian-rebel-via-AFP12.jpg

“‘Washington is aware of the deliveries of various weapons to illegal armed groups active in Syria. Moreover, judging by the declarations of US officials published in US media, the US coordinates and provides logistical assistance in such deliveries,’ the foreign ministry said in a statement.  Russia’s top general Nikolai Makarov on Wednesday said rebels fighting against Bashar al-Assad’s army in Syria are using US-made Stingers, a type of shoulder-launched missile systems also known as MANPADs.  State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland promptly denied that the US is delivering any such, or any other, weapons to the rebels.”

Government Gives Samsung and Motorola Monopoly Patent Grants; then Probes them for “Patent Abuse”

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/copyleft-aeroflot-failed_business_model2.jpg

“The state is schizophrenic. It grants monopolies aimed at limiting competition (patents and copyright), and then penalizes companies for using (‘abusing’) them, in contravention of state antitrust law–so that there is a ‘tension’ between these state laws. Then courts have to ‘balance’ these against each other. Each state law gives the state an excuse to ratchet up its power. Here’s an idea: get rid of both antitrust and patent law. (Likewise, there is also a ‘tension’ between copyright censorship, and the right to free speech.)”

Uneasiness in the Netherlands about national gold reserve

“Almost 300 ‘concerned Netherlands citizens’ have joined the German initiative for insight about the gold reserves.  In a petition the citizens committee demands ‘full openness on the quantity and storage location of the Netherlands’ physical gold, and on the extent and nature of the gold claims.’  In Germany a lot of uneasiness has risen about the quantity, value, and quality of the gold reserves, which have not been audited in many years at various storage locations. Under pressure from the German federal audit office, part of the gold stock will be repatriated from the United States to Frankfurt.”

60 Minutes: The new tax havens

“Companies searching out tax havens is nothing new. In the 80s and 90s, there was an exodus to Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, where there are no taxes at all.  When President Obama threatened to clamp down on tax dodging, many companies decided to leave the Caribbean, but instead of coming back home, they went to safer havens like a small, quaint medieval town in Switzerland called Zug.   Hans Marti, who heads Zug’s economic development office, showed off the nearby snow-covered mountains. But Zug’s main selling point isn’t a view of the Alps: he told Lesley Stahl the taxes are somewhere between 15 and 16 percent.”

Louisiana: Traffic Camera Company Sues Client Over Cash

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/newell2.jpg

“Redflex is irate that its photo ticketing contract was swept up in a parish government corruption scandal two years ago. A new set of government leaders intent on cleaning up the parish decided on January 27, 2010 to suspend the red light camera program. Officials were most concerned about documents that showed Redflex paid a 3.2 percent cut of the firm’s profit on each ticket to lobbyist Bryan Wagner, a former New Orleans city councilman, who in turn shared the funds with the wife of District Judge Robert Murphy. Wagner was set to earn an estimated $90,000 a year from this deal.”

Diabetic Cleburne Teen Hit With Taser After Crash

“The 19-year-old driver was in a hypoglycemic state. He’s diabetic. His blood sugar was dangerously low. ‘Step out of the vehicle, sir. Provide me with your driver’s license and insurance,’ the officer can be heard saying. ‘Step out of the vehicle. Or I will tase you!’  23-seconds later he does, firing at the teenager once in the car and once on the ground.  Emergency crews arrive. The officer finds out what was wrong. ‘I didn’t know he was freakin’ diabetic!’ the officer said.”

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/11759673-large2.jpg

“During a public auction of town-owned properties on Thursday, only registered bidders were allowed to attend, the media and other members of the public were banned, and a New Hampshire man was arrested.  One of the four properties that was auctioned was seized for non-payment of taxes from Bondsville call firefighter Joseph ‘Jay’ Noone, who had approximately a half-dozen supporters at the duplex during the open house held before the auction.  Noone, who was evicted from the property last year, owed approximately $35,000 in back taxes and legal fees. The auction netted $90,000 in revenues for the town.”

Obama Supporters Actually Hate Obama’s Policies

“Luke Rudkowski hits the streets of NYC to find out where Obama supporters really stand on his policies. Now he did this in an underhanded way where the policies where presented to be Romney’s, but this was only done to get an honest opinion. The reactions when the truth was uncovered varied but they were very telling to say the least.”
