“Any US import greater than $2500 thru FedEx is newly subject to a Customs regulation requiring a SS #. This requirement was put in place Jan 7th or 8th of this new and wonderful year. The FedEx customs representative/agent was embarrassed to call the ‘importer’ with this request, by their newfound responsibility.”

The IRS wants to tax your illegal income

There’s a line on your income tax form to declare it.  As ridiculous as it sounds, the federal government requires that money acquired through illegal means be reported and taxed just like legitimate income. It’s right there on the official IRS tax instructions: ‘Income from illegal activities, such as money from dealing illegal drugs, must be included in your income on Form 1040, line 21, or on Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ (Form 1040) if from your self-employment activity.’  If you tell the IRS you made $1 million from stealing money or dealing drugs, does the agency tip off the cops?”

Swiss to Ban Big Cash Purchases to Curb Money Laundering

“Switzerland is proposing to ban cash payments in excess of 100,000 francs ($107,500), including on watches and real estate, and wants to tighten the due diligence requirements for banks to prevent money laundering.  Transactions above that amount will have to be processed through a bank.  According to the proposal, banks will also have to undertake thorough checks to ensure funds are tax-compliant and must in the future refuse to accept any funds they believe are not declared.  The measures implement recommendations from the Financial Action Task Force, an international organization tasked with co-ordinating the fight against money laundering.”

In the words of Harry Dexter White, a then little-known Treasury official who became the unlikely architect of the Bretton Woods system, it was time to build a ‘New Deal for a new world.’  Working with his British counterpart, the revolutionary economist John Maynard Keynes, White set out to create the economic foundations for a durable postwar global peace.  Despite having never held any official title of importance, White had by 1944 achieved implausibly broad influence over U.S. foreign and economic policy.”

“The assembly’s budget body, the Fifth Committee, holds marathon negotiations in December each year on spending and national contributions.  These often last all night for several days in a row so that a vote can be held before the end of year holidays.  Some envoys have turned up for talks ‘falling down drunk,’ said one diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity. ‘On one occasion the note-taker who was meant to be recording the talks was so intoxicated he had to be replaced,’ said another. Both spoke on condition of anonymity.”

Some Troops Asked If They Would Kill U.S. Citizens If Ordered

“It’s a hell of a question, and it goes to show how badly our constitutional rights have been eroded in the name of the War on Terror.  On to the question itself: I have a good friend in-the-know with the military who told me that some troops are indeed being asked this question. If the troops reply that they would not kill U.S. citizens if ordered, says my friend, they are immediately honorably discharged on other grounds. This supports Internet rumors about the existence of such of question. I trust my friend, and now I, too, believe that the question is being posed within our military.”

The Academy could not identify any gun restriction that had reduced violent crime, suicide or gun accidents.  Why don’t gun bans work? Because they rely on voluntary compliance by gun-using criminals.  Actual research results—as opposed to unsupported opinions—pose a question embarrassed gun prohibitionists invariably try to evade: why ban guns to ordinary owners, i.e., people who never commit gun crimes?”
