“As a result of the numerous legal cases that have proven recording police officers is not a crime, authorities are getting more creative in attempting to stop abuse by law enforcement offices ending up as a viral video on YouTube. In the clip above, Detective Shannon Todd of the Newark Police Gang Unit approaches a man who is recording a police stop on his cell phone, ordering him to, ‘put your phone down, put it in your pocket.’ Despite acknowledging that the device is a phone, when the man refuses to follow the unlawful order, Todd remarks, ‘I need to hold on to it,’ before stating, ‘May I look at it and inspect it to ensure it’s not a firearm.'”

When Cops Rape … and Nothing Happens

“Stories of cops propositioning, harassing, and sexually assaulting women turn up every week around the country. February 18 saw the arrest of Houston officer Victor Chris for allegedly telling two women he would tear up their traffic tickets in exchange for sexual favors, according to the Houston Chronicle. Police chargedSergio Alvarez, an officer from West Sacramento, California, on February 25 with allegedly kidnapping and raping six women while on duty. On March 1, Denver cop Hector Paez got eight years in prison for driving a woman he’d arrested to a secluded spot and forcing her to perform oral sex.”

If you say you don’t recall, the government cannot get you for perjury. Of course, taxpayers cannot tell the IRS ‘I don’t recall how much income I made.’ The IRS just assesses a tax, and you have to prove otherwise. But now the IRS is on the receiving end of an inquisition. The nation cheers. Are they stonewalling? You bet.”

So, the lady gets a paid vacation. She oversaw the scandal, pleaded the fifth amendment, refused to answer questions, and then gets a paid vacation. Justice is swift in Washington! Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi blames Bush. That’s right. Bush did it. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Washington is good for amusement. It is expensive amusement, but it is still amusement.”

Texas votes to abolish taxation of gold

“The Texas Senate on Wednesday night passed H.B. 78, a bill that eliminates the sales tax on precious metal coins and bullion. It now goes to Governor Rick Perry’s desk for his signature into law. Existing Texas statute applies the 6.25% sales tax to purchases of gold and silver under $1,000. ‘This sends a powerful message to other states that taxing gold makes no sense because gold is money,’ said Rich Danker. ‘What is particularly right about this bill is that it removes a tax that affected middle and lower income people who wanted to acquire gold. These are the people losing the most from the long-term erosion in the dollar’s value and need this sound money option.'”

Indeed, 80pc think the ECB will cut rates again, and half think it will have to swallow its pride and join the QE club in the end. Four fifths think equities will gallop on upwards over the next year. Complacency is rife.”
