“It is now emerging that scores of Bundy’s cattle were abused and killed, with many being dumped into mass graves. This story was first revealed by 21stCenturyWire.com. “Key members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform expressed outrage at revelations made in newly released emails showing ex-IRS official Lois Lerner coordinating with the Department of Justice on prosecuting nonprofit groups.  One committee member said the emails prove why the IRS is ‘scared to give up the rest of Lois Lerner’s emails.’ IRS commissioner John Koskinen was recently threatened with contempt for stonewalling the committee’s investigation. Koskinen claimed in a hearing that it could take years to provide the documents requested by Oversight.”

US Begins Verifying Passports On Departing International Flights

“The US government is using the Malaysian Airlines flight 370 to tackle the ‘widespread lack of passport screening in all countries.’ The US is stepping up their processes. Already each passport of incoming visitors to the US is screened through multiple databases. After flight 370 disappeared, the US has started this process for all outgoing passengers.  ‘Coupled with this information and the new abilities to act on that information definitely makes air travel a lot safer,’ according to one government official.  For nearly any random reason an individual can be denied his or her right to travel by the US bureaucracy, and it happens way more than you think.”

Venezuela issues ID cards to curtail food hoarding

“Battling food shortages, the government is rolling out a new ID system that is either a grocery loyalty card with extra muscle or the most dramatic step yet toward rationing in Venezuela, depending on who is describing it.  Registration began Tuesday at more than 100 government-run supermarkets across the country.  Patrons will register with their fingerprints, and the new ID card will be linked to a computer system that monitors purchases. On Tuesday, Food Minister Felix Osorio said the process was off to a smooth start. He says the system will sound an alarm when it detects suspicious purchasing patterns, barring people from buying the same goods every day.”

St Lucia considers economic citizenship to boost investment

“Describing the current economic climate as ‘severe, debilitating and oppressive’ Prime Minister Kenny Anthony, who is preparing to present the 2014/15 national budget said St Lucia may well have to look at initiatives that it once ‘frowned upon’.  Anthony said some Caribbean countries are granting economic citizenship to persons out of Asia, but once that happens those persons are ending up in St Lucia and establishing themselves on the island.  Other countries in the region, including Dominica, St.Kitts Nevis and Antigua Barbuda have launched their citizenship by investment programmes, which grants citizenship of a country to individuals who invest money to a country’s development.”
