Federal Lawsuit Questions if Washington State Can Tax Marijuana

“The case arises from the state’s attempt to collect sales taxes from a medical marijuana dispensary. But lawyer Douglas Hiatt said it could throw a wrench in Washington’s plans for collecting taxes on recreational marijuana, too.  The author of Washington’s recreational pot law, Alison Holcomb, disagreed.  Hiatt is representing the dispensary’s operator, Martin Nickerson, who is simultaneously being prosecuted criminally for marijuana distribution and targeted by the state Department of Revenue for not collecting and remitting taxes on the pot he was allegedly distributing. Nickerson can’t pay the tax without incriminating himself in the criminal case, Hiatt argued.”

The Cannabis Conspiracy?

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“It suited Modern Internationalism to put people in jail for using drugs. But that was in the 20th century. In the 21st century, it suits our leaders to legalize drugs and then build a UN-oriented globalist infrastructure to ‘cure’ addicts.  It is always in the service of globalism. Policies, moral pronouncements – war itself – these are nothing but tools intended to create specific outcomes.  Ultimately, we are seeing further justifications for a new kind of directed history.  It starts with cannabis, but perhaps it doesn’t end there …”

Uruguay’s New Regs: Unreasonable on Purpose?

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“Uruguay is now in the business of fixing prices for an entire industry. In fact, this can only lead to a renewed black market. If Uruguay continues along this path it probably won’t much reduce black-market trafficking because the black market will supply a similar and even better product at a lower price without demanding that people sign some sort of public document attesting to their use of the drug. The whole point of this exercise supposedly was to remove the criminal influence from the production and ingestion of cannabis. After beginning splendidly, Uruguay officials have acted in a way that reverses most of the benefits that could have been expected from ‘legalization.'”

Arson charges brought after accidental hash oil homebrew explosions

“Colorado’s constitutional amendment that legalized marijuana allows adults 21 and older to ‘process’ the drug. But prosecutors in some cases, including Braithwaite’s, have charged alleged hash oil cookers with ‘processing or manufacturing marijuana and marijuana concentrate’ through a different law. Colorado lawmakers Tuesday gave final approval to bills that tackle two other marijuana issues that have raised concern in recent months. The second requires the state to limit the potency of store-sold edibles and hash oil (also known as dabs, shatter or wax).  Producing hash oil at home is about 50% cheaper than buying it in stores.”

Marijuana: What’s Driving This Highly Profitable Trend

Anthony-Wile1

“The primary reason may have more to do in this case with the Internet itself. See, prior to the early 2000s support for decriminalization or legalization of marijuana was fairly stagnant. However, since that time, as the growth of Internet users has skyrocketed so too has the support to end marijuana’s prohibition. The process is something we refer to by the phrase we coined, the Internet Reformation. And it is affecting many areas of our lives. It is the reason why gold and silver – traditional money metals – have shot up. The same dynamics are at play here as well. Lies and deceit are much more difficult to spread and maintain in an era of transparency and an ever conversant society.”

Teen kills Alaska reality TV cops arresting his dad for revoked license

“A teenager gunned down two state troopers Thursday in a tiny, remote Alaskan town as the officers attempted to arrest the man’s father, authorities said.  Nathaniel Lee Kangas, 19, fatally shot the troopers [after they] flew in to Tanana, a town of some 250 people, to follow up on a report that a relative of Kangas had wielded a shotgun Wednesday in a dispute with a town safety officer.  Nathanial Kangas was apprehended immediately and tentatively charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of third-degree assault.  Arvin Kangas fled the murder scene. He was arrested hours later and charged on a warrant with fourth-degree assault and driving with a revoked license.”

Footage clears woman, falsely arrested after police car crashed into her

Video footage from a nearby airport surveillance camera recently surfaced, showing that the officer caused the crash by failing to stop at a stop sign. Furthermore, the results of drug and alcohol tests administered at the hospital became available and confirmed Weyker’s sobriety at the time of the crash.  An internal investigation at the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office launched after the incident further vindicated Weyker. In a recorded interrogation, the officer admits that he was at fault for the accident.  Quiles has never officially been disciplined for misreporting the accident.”

Japanese Man Arrested for Making 3D Printed Gun

“A twenty-seven year old Japanese man was arrested on suspicion of printing and possessing guns. This is the first instance of such an arrest being made in Japan….. According to ANN News, Yoshitomo Imura allegedly downloaded gun blueprints from a foreign site and then printed the resin guns with his 3D printer.  Imura had apparently uploaded videos to YouTube in which he fired off what looks to be a 3D printed pistol. Last month, police seized five 3D printed guns from Imura’s Kawasaki City home….  It is possible to own guns in Japan, but the country has incredibly strict firearms regulations.”

Would you download a car? Man 3D prints life-size Aston Martin DB4

“Using just a $500 3D-printer and a free wire-frame model downloaded from the internet, Ivan Sentch is printing out his own car. It’s a response years in the making to the notorious anti-piracy advert that shouted at would-be pirates that they ‘wouldn’t steal a car‘. The standard response – ‘well I would if I could download it’ – is now a step closer to reality.  And this isn’t just any car – Sentch hasn’t stinted and is now about three quarters of the way through printing a 1961 Aston Martin DB4Sentch, a programmer from Auckland, New Zealand, began his project by downloading a fan-made 3D model of the car.”

‘Dark Wallet’ wants to make Bitcoin even harder to trace

“Dark Wallet is a browser app for bitcoin payments that uses both encryption and CoinJoin technology.  CoinJoin essentially mixes multiple bitcoin transactions, selected at random, as one transfer of funds and conceals the original payers.  Dark Wallet offers anonymous transactions by default.  The political orientation of Dark Wallet’s backers unSystem attracted attention to the app when it was launched on the Indiegogo crowdfunding website, where it raised more than $52,000 last December.  ‘Bitcoin is the next battle ground in the fight against supranational political domination,’ wrote the backers, including Cody Wilson, known for creating the world’s first 3D-printed gun.”
