The Office Of Propaganda And Censorship

“Countering Violent Extremism, or CVE, is the idea that the government should step in and work with ‘at risk communities’ to ensure that people won’t get too radical.  The government label whole communities or groups ‘at risk’ based on their religion, ethnicity, political beliefs or other non-criminal characteristics, and the government will also decide what ideas are too radical and need to be exorcised from that community.  The Obama Administration is piloting programs in Boston, Minneapolis and Los Angeles.  Now, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) has proposed a Countering Violent Extremism Act (HR2899), which would create a $50 million Office of Countering Violent Extremism at DHS.”

To Be A Domestic Terrorist, Set Animals Free

“Was the shooter at the Louisiana movie theatre a domestic terrorist?  What about the man who killed four marines and a sailor in Chattanooga, Tennessee?  While the debate about the motives of the people responsible for these heinous acts continue, there’s no ambiguity about who the FBI and DOJ consider domestic terrorists: animal activists. Under AETA, anyone who damages the property or the profit line of an animal business and who uses ‘interstate commerce’ such as a cellphone or the internet can be convicted of terrorism even though no violence is involved. The law is written in such a broad manner that lawful activists simply speaking out can be labeled as ‘terrorists.'”

Santa Ana Police want video of them stealing marijuana suppressed

“The three Santa Ana police officers who raided a medical marijuana dispensary earlier this year and were caught on camera stealing pot and degrading a disabled woman have filed a lawsuit to block the video’s use in the trial against them. The Orange County Register reported on August 4 that the police, who remain unidentified but can be seen here, believed they had disabled all of the security cameras and had a reasonable expectation of privacy.  This particular shop, Sky High, was under suspicion of operating without a permit, because in many the United States you must have permission from the government to engage in commerce to make a living.”

Police Shut Down Concert Because Rapper Appeared by Hologram

“A change in the playlist [does not] justify the police shutting down the event, when the objection to the change was the inclusion of someone whose viewpoint the city disapproves of.  It appears that Chief Keef appeared by hologram because there was a warrant for his arrest, perhaps for missing a DUI court hearing or for failing to appear in a child support case; but while that would have justified the police arresting him if he appeared in person (since there would be a viewpoint-neutral justification for that, namely arresting someone for whom there is a warrant), that can’t justify the police stopping the holographic projection.”

“Combined, both cases cost the local governments well over $3 million in settlements. Ayers got $2 million. The toddler’s family got $1 million (which might cover the child’s medical expenses). The alleged drug transaction that led to the investigation ending in Ayers’s death was for $50 worth of cocaine. The transaction that nearly led to the death of the toddler was for $50 worth of meth. A dead pastor, a widowed wife, a fatherless baby, a disfigured toddler, $3 million in settlements, who knows how much money spent on investigations and legal fees . . . all over $100 in alleged drug sales.  The raids will go on. And so will the body count.”

Chile’s government estimates 3,095 were killed.  About 70 military officials have been jailed for crimes against humanity and some 700 more are facing trial. Pinochet died in 2006 under house arrest without ever being tried.”

“The news media’s focus on illegal immigration prevents crucial dialogue on something more important: legal immigration.  Launched in 2007, the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program provides visas to Iraqi and Afghan interpreters who face an ‘ongoing serious threat’ in their own countries because of the ‘faithful and valuable service’ they rendered to the U.S. government. It is a straightforward program with bipartisan support.  However, SIV is a bureaucratic mess; restrictions and backlogs have stranded former U.S. allies overseas, where they and their families are targeted for harm even though they were promised visas as part of their recruitment.”

British SAS Special Forces “Dressed Up as ISIS Rebels” Fighting in Syria

“On August 2, Britain’s Sunday Express newspaper headlined ‘SAS dress as ISIS fighters in undercover war on jihadis,’ saying:  ‘More than 120 members belonging to the elite regiment are currently in the war-torn country’ covertly ‘dressed in black and flying ISIS flags,’ engaged in what’s called Operation Shader – attacking Syrian targets on the pretext of combatting ISIS.  The latest revelation comes two weeks after learning Prime Minister David Cameron last year approved British warplanes joining US ones in bombing Syria despite parliamentary rejection in August 2013.  At least part of its current covert ground operation is under US command – so-called ‘smash’ units.”

U.S. Agrees To Act As Terrorist Bodyguard, Plans Attacking Assad Forces

“Fresh on the heels of the establishment of an ‘ISIL-Free Zone’ (aka ‘No-Fly Zone’) in northern Syria along the Turkish border, the United States has quietly announced that it will also extend its airstrike operations to act as the traveling bodyguard of the jihadists it has trained and ‘vetted.’  The policy, reportedly authorized by Barack Obama, would involve the US Air Force bombing any force attacking the so-called ‘moderate rebel fighters,’ including the Syrian military.  The announcement was first reported on Sunday by the Wall Street Journal via anonymous military sources.”

Michael Flynn appears uninterested in a lucrative second career.   When August arrives, will Washington’s compliant media report that one of Obama’s own top generals says drones are a ‘failed strategy’? They will if they are interested in promoting a healthy public debate. In other words, don’t hold your breath. The corporate-owned TV networks and national newspapers know who keeps the dollars flowing. Rebel generals who don’t toe the party line are not on the list.”
