Rare Historical Photos In Color

“A collection of some really nice photos from the past ‘come to life’. Most of the
photos I took from Life magazine, Library of Congress, Shorpy and National
Geographic.  The text of the song entitled ‘Kilkelly Ireland’, penned by American song writer Peter Jones, whose great, great grandfather was John Hunt, from the general Kilkelly area. Back in the late 1970s or early 1980s, Peter found a box of old letters in the attic of his parents home in America. These were a series of letters written between
1860 – 1890, to John Hunt by his parents from their home in Kilkelly in
Ireland.”

“Under the ‘Great Socialist Republic’ of Qaddafi’s regime, shares were routinely provided to the people.  By management’s estimate, approximately 260,000 Libyan citizens own shares but are not yet authorized to sell them.  Under the current government, this will change beginning in August 2014.  If this holds true, expect to see a significant drop in prices across the LSM as the ‘main street’ Libyan sells his shares en masse for a quick payday.  Most people here don’t place much value in stocks; it is likely that many do not even understand what a stock is.  Forty-two years of socialism cannot be undone overnight.”

The programme was directed by Martyn Gregory and produced by Neil Docherty.  It exposes the Citizens for a Free Kuwait campaign as public relations spin to gain public opinion support for the Gulf War. As well, it reveals that Nurse Nayirah was in fact Nijirah al-Sabah, the daughter of Kuwait’s ambassador to the United States Saud Nasir Al-Sabah, coached by Hill & Knowlton to forge her infamous testimony about Iraqi soldiers removing babies from incubators, which was widely reported and repeated throughout the media.”
