Hanoi, Vietnam Old Quarter Tour

“Hanoi’s Old Quarter is one of the great destinations in Asia, densely packed with open store-fronts, lots of people, scooters buzzing by, many cheap places to eat, historic buildings and friendly people. The Old Quarter of Hanoi is often known as the 36 streets, but in fact, now there are more than 36 streets, each one providing rewards for the intrepid visitor. The old quarter is different from other places in Hanoi. Preserving the houses in the old quarter is very necessary, and according to the plan, the Hanoi people committee are planning to preserve the old houses in the old quarter, so it can keep the original state. However the planned renovations might change the existing historic character.”

“500 innocent Americans are murdered by police every year (USDOJ). 5,000 since 9/11, equal to the number of US soldiers lost in Iraq.  In 1994 the US Government passed a law authorizing the Pentagon to donate surplus Cold War era military equipment to local police departments.  In the 20 years since, weaponry designed for use on a foreign battlefield, has been handed over for use on American streets…against American citizens.  The ‘War on Drugs’ and the ‘War on Terror’ replaced the Cold War with billions in funding and dozens of laws geared towards this new ‘war’ against its own citizens, creating what is being called an ‘epidemic of police brutality’ sweeping the nation.”

Departing Space Station Commander Provides Tour of Orbital Laboratory

“In her final days as Commander of the International Space Station, Sunita Williams of NASA recorded an extensive tour of the orbital laboratory and downlinked the video on Nov. 18, just hours before she, cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and Flight Engineer Aki Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency departed in their Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft for a landing on the steppe of Kazakhstan. The tour includes scenes of each of the station’s modules and research facilities with a running narrative by Williams of the work that has taken place and which is ongoing aboard the orbital outpost.”
