Former Fed chief Alan Greenspan warns of bond market bubble
“Alan Greenspan, who served as Fed chairman between 1987 and 2006, told Bloomberg: ‘I think we have a pending bond market bubble. If we merely substitute the structure of equity prices, and we have the price of bonds, and instead of expected equity return we have expected interest rate return, that price earnings ratio is in an extraordinary unstable position.’ Mr Greenspan, who has been criticised for fuelling the US housing bubble by keeping rates down in the early 2000s and failing to keep a closer eye on banks, said behavioural economics was playing a central role in investor decision making. Mr Greenspan also said oil prices had further to fall.”
Dutch court rules in favor of unblocking Pirate Bay as ban ‘ineffective’
“People in the Netherlands will soon have access to The Pirate Bay, one of the world’s most censored file-sharing websites, as a court in The Hague ruled that Dutch ISPs need to stop blocking the site after the ban proved ineffective against piracy. The Court of The Hague released its verdict that two leading ISPs operating in the country – XS4All and Ziggo – no longer have to block access to file sharing website The Pirate Bay. The court’s verdict was based on the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, which includes the ‘freedom to conduct a business’ and ‘right to property.’ Entrepreneurial freedom overrides property rights, the court ruled.”

In an interview with ABC News, Secretary General Ronald Noble elaborated on that idea, noting that there are two paths governments can go down to protect ‘soft targets’ or unarmed civilians from terrorists and sociopaths. The first is to move in the direction of a police state with armed guards, security checkpoints, surveillance cameras and metal detectors everywhere. The other is to encourage responsible citizens to keep and bear arms for self-defense.”
