Christopher Dorner Becomes First Human Target For Drones On US Soil

“It was revealed that Dorner has become the first human target for remotely-controlled airborne drones on US soil.   A senior police source said: ‘The thermal imaging cameras the drones use may be our only hope of finding him. On the ground, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.’  Asked directly if drones have already been deployed, Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz, who is jointly leading the task force, said: ‘We are using all the tools at our disposal.'”

“Gun Violence”: The “National Conversation” We Won’t Have

“According to Clarence Dupnik – the craven, dim-witted functionary who presides over the Pima County Sheriff’s Office – about fifty SWAT raids of the kind that led to the murder of Jose Guerena occur within his jurisdiction every year, which is shocking. In Baltimore County, Chief Johnson’s Einsatzgruppen conduct more than 120 attacks of that kind annually, which are among the 1,600 military assaults carried out in Maryland each year, a figure that is genuinely horrifying. Gun-related violence by government-licensed killers is ubiquitous – and it is also a forbidden subject in the ‘national conversation’ our rulers have orchestrated for their benefit.”

Massive espionage malware targeting governments undetected for 5 years

“Researchers have uncovered an ongoing, large-scale computer espionage network that’s targeting hundreds of diplomatic, governmental, and scientific organizations in at least 39 countries, including the Russian Federation, Iran, and the United States.  Operation Red October, as researchers from antivirus provider Kaspersky Lab have dubbed the highly coordinated campaign, has been active since 2007, raising the possibility it has already siphoned up hundreds of terabytes of sensitive information.  The main purpose of the campaign is to gather classified information and geopolitical intelligence.”

Chinese Hackers Could Face Aggressive Action From U.S. Over Cyber Attacks

“The Obama administration is considering more assertive action against Beijing to combat a persistent cyber-espionage campaign it believes Chinese hackers are waging against U.S. companies and government agencies.  As The New York Times and Wall Street Journal reported that their computer systems had been infiltrated by China-based hackers, cybersecurity experts said the U.S. government is eyeing more pointed diplomatic and trade measures.  The U.S. itself has been named in one of the most prominent cyberattacks — Stuxnet — the computer worm that infiltrated an Iranian nuclear facility, shutting down thousands of centrifuges there in 2010.”

Former Obama Intel Chief: Pentagon, Not CIA Should Control Drone Strikes

“Admiral Dennis Blair, the Director of National Intelligence from January 2009 to May 2010, told a Council on Foreign Relations conference call that current U.S. policy has created ‘all kinds of legal knots’ regarding how and when America uses the controversial counterterrorism tactic.  Last week The Washington Post reported that the Obama administration is almost done with its ‘playbook’ designed to establish clear rules for targeted-killing operations, but the CIA will continue to be exempt from the rules for the next year or more.”

Senators Demand that Banks Be Punished – but Not the Fed

the-daily-bell-top-logo52

“Bring these banksters to justice.  But not the good, gray men of central banking.  We are not surprised. The power elites are deathly frightened, in our view, that their control over central banks is in jeopardy. They will sacrifice the entire financial infrastructure to make sure central banks are not attacked.  They are trying to do this any way they can.  They are trying to set up neo-Pecora hearings to focus on Wall Street and the securities industry in general. There will be similar attacks in Europe and Britain. Maybe in China and Japan too, who knows?”

Pentagon planning massive cybersecurity increase

“The US Department of Defense has approved a fivefold expansion of its cybersecurity force over the coming years in a bid to increase its ability to defend critical computer networks, The Washington Post reported.  Citing unnamed US officials, the newspaper said the Defense Department’s Cyber Command, which currently has a staff of about 900, will expand to about 4,900 troops and civilians.  The decision to expand the Cyber Command was made by senior Pentagon officials late last year in recognition of a growing threat in cyberspace, the report said.”

North Africa Explodes?

the-daily-bell-top-logo52

“The Financial Times is reporting that the West ‘faces decades of conflict in N. Africa.’ The world’s biggest news aggregator, Matt Drudge, is featuring the news on his front page. No doubt it’s being promoted throughout the mainstream media as if what’s going on is a surprise.  The current war blowing up in Mali is, however, a perfect example of directed history. It has been ‘in the works’ for at least two years but probably far longer than that. Not only has it been planned, it has been gradually developed through a series of supporting wars in the Middle East and Africa. All of this manipulation was intended to make this outcome look inevitable and natural. It is not.”

US general warns over Iranian cyber-soldiers

“Cyber-attacks on Iran are turning it into a ‘force to be reckoned with’ America’s top cyber-soldier has warned.  Since 2010, Iran has come under attack many times by malicious viruses written specifically to target key industrial installations in the country.  The repeated attacks have provoked Iran to improve its cyber-capabilities, said Gen William Shelton who oversees US cyber-operations.  That improved capability had helped it protect itself against subsequent attacks on oil terminals and other manufacturing plants. Its capability might well be turned against Iran’s enemies in the coming years, he said.”

How cigarette smuggling fuels Africa’s Islamist violence

“The key role cigarettes play in facilitating terrorism has been inexplicably ignored. But it has become of urgent interest to western intelligence agencies as they seek to check al-Qaida’s diverse factions operating across the Saharan region.  The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) has concluded that ‘cigarette smuggling has provided the bulk of financing for AQIM’. The total value of the illicit tobacco trade in north Africa is thought to exceed $1bn (£632m). The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) estimates that Africans smoke 400bn cigarettes a year, of which 60bn are bought on the black market.”
