If you were able to put a ‘value’ on Napsterin its early days as more and more people put their files on it, the chart might have looked similar. Does that mean Napster was a speculative bubble? No (although eventually it crashed for other reasons).”

Ron Paul: Fed’s Yellen Dangerous For The Economy

“What does former U.S. congressman Dr. Ron Paul think about Janet Yellen as the Fed Chair? Kitco News caught up with Paul at the Metals & Minerals Conference in San Francisco, where he is a keynote speaker, to discuss monetary policy, gold and the US dollar. ‘It’s easy to be a critic if you don’t believe they should exist,’ Paul says in response to his criticisms of the Fed. Having Yellen as the next chair, Paul says not much will change. ‘If anything, it’ll be slightly worse because she is a very aggressive inflator…I think she’ll be dangerous to the dollar and she will not revive the economy.'”

Police dept. loses insurance, shuts down after lawsuits against 2 officers

“The Point Marion Police Department in Fayette County closed its doors after settling lawsuits against police officers.  ‘We had to lay off the officers due to the fact that we do not have police liability insurance,’ said Point Marion Borough Manager Arthur Strimel. Strimel said the insurance carrier dropped the department after paying two settlements against the department’s only two police officers, including Kevin Lukart, who has been in trouble before.  Lukart had been fired from the Apollo Police Department after he was charged with exposing himself to a 17-year-old.  He was also fired from the Braddock Police Department after a news camera captured Lukart punching a man in handcuffs.”

Bitcoin has shown the Federal Reserve how it’s done.  The central bank wants to see ‘a ubiquitous system for near-real-time payments.’  End-users, the Fed points out, want real-time validation of payment and posting, assurance the payment will not be returned, timely notification, and ‘masked account details, eliminating the need for end-users to disclose bank account information to each other.’ This sounds familiar to anyone who uses Bitcoin.”
