Russia: Hysteria around chemical attack suits those who want military intervention

“Lavrov said that the US, Britain and other countries have assembled a ‘powerful force’ and are ‘readying their ships and planes’ for a possible invasion.  The minister said that the development set the world on a ‘perilous path’ and warned that ‘repeating the Iraqi and Lybyan scenario’ and bringing in outside forces, would be a ‘terrible mistake that will lead to more blood being spilt’.  The minister reserved particular outrage for the newly-mooted possibility of NATO staging a strike on chemical storage facilities without a United Nations mandate.  Asked if Russia was going to join in the potential conflict on either side, Lavrov said ‘We have no plans to go to war, but we hope that others think of long-term interests.'”

The state-supported BBC was first to run with it – until it was discovered the supposedly incriminating photo was taken in Iraq during the recent war.”

Hastings Coroner Report: He Was Using Drugs, But Not Considered a Factor

“Michael Hastings, who was killed in a fiery Los Angeles crash in June, died of ‘traumatic injuries’ as a result of the accident and had traces of drugs in his system, Los Angeles coroner’s officials said.  Coroner’s officials said Hastings had traces of amphetamine in his system, consistent with possible intake of methamphetamine many hours before death, as well as marijuana. However, neither were considered a factor in the crash, according to toxicology reports.  Hastings had arrived in Los Angeles from New York the day before the accident ‘ [..] as his family was attempting to get [Hastings] to go to detox,’ the report stated.”

NYPD: Largest-ever gun seizure by an undercover cop was thanks to ‘stop and frisk’

“The Commissioner was also quick to claim that, despite the undercover officers’ involvement and all other apparent evidence to the contrary, the seizure points to success of the ‘stop and frisk’ policy. Kelly’s claim rests on a wiretap of one of the accused, Eddie Campbell, who is heard to say that he prefers not to come to New York because of the stop-and-frisk policy: ‘I’m in Brownsville,’ Kelly quoted Campbell as saying. ‘We got like, umm, uh, whatchamacallit, stop and frisk.’ Campbell is accused of selling 90 guns during 24 meetings with the unnamed detective. Another alleged dealer, Walter Walker, is said to have sold him another 116 guns.”
