Police ‘assessing credibility’ of claim Princess Diana murdered by British soldier

“New information which has been passed to the police relating to the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed is thought to include an allegation that they were murdered by a member of the British military, it emerged tonight. Scotland Yard said it is ‘scoping’ the information and ‘assessing its relevance and credibility’. It is understood the allegation was made by the former parents-in-law of a former soldier based on information that the ex-soldier talked about in the past, according to a military source.  The Ministry of Defence said tonight it was not commenting on the matter.”

More Fast and Furious guns surface at crimes in Mexico

“Three more weapons from Fast and Furious have turned up at crime scenes in Mexico, CBS News has learned, as the toll from the controversial federal operation grows.  According to Justice Department tracing documents obtained by CBS News, all three guns are WASR-10 762-caliber Romanian rifles.  A steady stream of the guns have been recovered at crime scenes in Mexico and the U.S. But the Justice Department has refused repeated requests from Congress and CBS News to provide a full accounting. An estimated 1,400 guns are still on the street or unaccounted for.”

By using the video and the distance traveled (195 feet) as well as the seconds that lapsed prior to the explosion – the car was traveling roughly 35 mph. That revelation is important because Jose, an employee of ALSCO a nearby business, and a witness to the accident told KTLA/Loud Labs (Scott Lane) the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and he saw sparks coming from the car and saw it explode BEFORE hitting the tree.”

Bangladeshi student sentenced to 30 years in prison for FBI plot to blow up the Fed

“A Bangladeshi student who came to the U.S. intending to commit jihad was sentenced to 30 years in prison today after pleading guilty to terrorism charges for trying to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in New York. The plot was a phony operation engineered by undercover agents. The 22-year-old begged for leniency and forgiveness, apologizing to the judge, the United States, New York City and his parents and said he no longer believed in radical Islam.  Nafis was arrested after he tried to detonate a phony 1,000-pound truck bomb outside the bank in October.”

Fast-food worker protests help labor unions, not labor

“Terrance is not your typical minimum wage worker. Most minimum wage workers move on after a couple of years, because turnover in the fast-food industry is rapid. When I asked NPR how to get in touch with Terrance, I was given the name of his publicist.  A minimum-wage worker with a publicist? That’s something. Worker centers such as NYCC should stop masquerading as friends of workers and admit they are paid by unions to do work that unions are not allowed to do. Higher minimum wages will price the young and unskilled out of jobs, and add to their difficulties in finding employment.”
