Never Forget … Your Country Admits to False Flag Terror

“In the following [56] instances, officials in the government which carried out the attack (or seriously proposed an attack) admit to it, either orally, in writing, or through photographs or videos.”

Jacob Hornberger: Do You Want Your Children to Die for Montenegro?

hornberger1

“Get used to the possibility that your son or daughter might end up dying for Montenegro because that country has just been invited to become the latest member of NATO, the Cold War organization that was brought into existence to defend Europe from America’s World War II partner and ally, the Soviet Union.  Just in case you’ve never heard of Montenegro or maybe don’t know where it is, here’s a link to Wikipedia’s page on the country: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montenegro. It seems to me that if your son or daughter might have to die in the defense of Montenegro, you might want to know a little about it or at least where it is located.”

Never Mind $35, The World’s Cheapest Oil Is Already Close to $20

“Oil has slumped to levels last seen in the global financial crisis in 2009 amid a global supply glut. While the prices of benchmarks West Texas Intermediate and Brent hover in the $30s, they represent a category of crude — light and low in sulfur — that is more highly valued because it’s easier to refine. Some producers of thicker, blacker and more sulfurous varieties have suffered heavier losses and are already living in the $20s.  Ironically, those selling at the lowest prices have even more incentive to pump, potentially deepening the glut that’s weighing on prices.”

Sheldon Richman: Why Assad Isn’t “Our Son of a Bitch”

“If the U.S. government has forced the American people to support useful dictators, why is it trying to overthrow Syria’s brutal president, Bashar al-Assad, whose enemies — Jabhat al-Nusra (al-Qaeda in Syria) and the Islamic State (the ambitious al-Qaeda offshoot) — are also self-proclaimed enemies of America?  Instead of discussion we get a parade of retired generals and CIA analysts, along with terrorism ‘experts,’ who insist that to defeat the Islamic State the U.S. government must end the Syrian civil war by ousting Assad. All this adds up to an American, Saudi, Turkish, and Israeli preference for violent Sunni jihadists.”

Andrew Bacevich, The pretend war: why bombing Isil won’t solve the problem

“[In 1956], as today, in both London and Paris, an emotional thirst for revenge overrode sober calculation.  The vicious Isis attacks in Paris represent another unpardonable offence. Through war, Cameron and Hollande seek to avenge the innocents who were killed and wounded. But as the humiliating outcome of the Suez war reminds us, there are some problems to which war is an unsuitable response.  Across much of the greater Middle East today, we confront one such problem. For western governments to reflexively visit further violence on that region represents not a policy but an abdication of policy. It’s past time to think differently.”

Israel to annex Syrian Golan Heights after ‘billion barrel’ oil find

“The day before Netanyahu’s meeting at the White House, Michael Oren, Israel’s former ambassador to the US, published a commentary on CNN’s website urging Obama to consider Israeli sovereignty over the Golan.  Neither Oren nor presumably Netanyahu highlighted another reason why Israel might be anxious to gain US approval of its effective annexation of the Golan in 1981, when it passed the Golan Heights Law extending Israeli law and administration throughout the territory, in violation of international law.  Last month Afek, an Israeli subsidiary of Genie Energy, a US oil company, announced that it had found considerable reserves of oil under the Golan.”

Jacob Hornberger: Regime Change is the Root of Evil in Syria

hornberger1

“Several years ago the George W. Bush regime and the Assad regime entering into a rendition-torture partnership by which the CIA shipped a Canadian citizen named Mahar Arar to Syria to have him tortured. The CIA was convinced that Arar was a terrorist but was reluctant to torture a confession out of him. So the CIA turned to its deep-state counterparts in Syria to get the confession. After a year of brutal torture, it was finally determined that Arar was an innocent man. The Syrians released him and he’s now back living in Canada.  So, why the urge to initiate a regime-change operation against the U.S. government’s former partner in the war on terrorism?”

NATO Vows Biggest Buildup against Russia since Cold War

“In particular, Washington and its NATO allies have sought to turn a pair of alleged brief incursions by Russian warplanes across Syria’s northern border into Turkish airspace last weekend as an effective act of war.  ‘NATO is ready and able to defend all allies, including Turkey against any threats,’ NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters as he entered the meeting. He added that NATO was prepared to deploy troops to Turkey and had already taken steps to increase the alliance’s ‘capacity’ and ‘preparedness’ to do so.  The magnification of the alleged violations of Turkish airspace into a confrontation between Moscow and the Western alliance has been driven mainly by Washington.”

Marco Rubio Cites NATO Alliance: We Must Defend Turkey

“‘It’s important for us to be very clear that we will respond and defend Turkey if they come under assault from the Russians,’ he said. ‘Otherwise the entire NATO alliance comes into question.’  A strong signal of support, Rubio stated, would stop the Russians from testing the alliance. He added that he fully expected an international incident such as this one as a consequence of Russia conducting military operations in the Middle East. ‘My sense is that the Russians would not test it, they do not have the capabilities to confront the NATO alliance particularly the United States or even the Turks for that matter,’ he said.”

Pentagon: 50% more drone flights by 2019, adding China, Russia coverage

“The military is doubling down on drones. The expansion would give the Pentagon even more reconnaissance data, expanding capacity in new programs from the Army and special contractors.  Only a vanishingly small percentage of the flights involve actual strikes, but they’ll provide a crucial first step for strikes in new regions, which will require reconnaissance feeds for targeting and command support. Notably, many of the future reconnaissance efforts are intended to monitor operations in Ukraine and the South China Sea. Thus far, drone strikes have been largely confined to Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.”
