“The poor, beleaguered Ukrainian culture is torn between East and West and those wishing for a better life apparently have to choose between Russia and the EU. What a choice! The EU is a fascist/corporatist empire in the making and Russia is devolving into an authoritarian cult of personality.  Yet Western Ukraine apparently is enamored of the EU, at least in part. The East, with huge factories and industrial trade with Russia believes that the Ukraine’s future lies with the Great Bear. The easiest observation to make – as we mentioned above – is that a lot of the current ruckus smacks of NATO/CIA interference.”

Jim Rickards: Decline of the Petrodollar System is Good for Gold

“The petrodollar system is collapsing for two reasons. The US has abused its privileged reserve currency position by printing trillions of dollars in an effort to create inflation. More recently, President Obama has taken steps to anoint Iran as the regional hegemon of the Middle East, and to ease the way, in stages, toward Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons capability. This is viewed as a stab-in-the-back by the Saudis and the Israelis and will lead quickly to Saudi Arabia obtaining nuclear weapons from Pakistan.  There is also a newly emerging alliance among Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, and Russia. The new alignment will have no particular use for US dollars and no reason to support them.”

‘Anarchy at door, West starts to rebuild Libyan army’

“Two years after NATO missiles helped rebels drive out Muammar Gaddafi, Libya is under siege from former rebel fighters who now flex their military muscle to make demands on the state, seize oilfields and squabble over post-war spoils.  With Libya’s army still in the making, Western powers are keen to halt chaos in the key European oil supplier and stop illicit arms spilling across North Africa.  The army struggles even to pin down how many troops it has.  Disputes run deep through the interior and defense ministries, where former rebels, including hardline Islamists, have been reintegrated and put on the state payroll in an attempt to control their fighters.”

Defeated By The Taliban, Washington Decides To Take On Russia And China

Washington used NGOs funded by Washington and its EU puppets to create anti-Russian, pro-American, pro-EU movements in the former constituent parts of Soviet Russia. The gullible peoples were so happy to have escaped the Soviet thumb that they did not realize that they now had new masters.  It is a good bet that the Ukrainian protests are a CIA organized event, using the Washington and EU funded NGOs and manipulating the hatred of Ukrainian nationalists for Russia. The protests are directed against Russia.”

Two Japanese airlines to disregard China air zone rules

“Two of Japan’s biggest airlines have agreed to abide by a government request not to implement China’s new air defence zone rules, officials say.  All Nippon Airlines and Japan Airlines say that they will stop filing flight plans demanded by China on routes through the zone, set up on Saturday.  Japan says that China’s new air defence identification zone are ‘not valid at all’ and should be disregarded.  The zone includes disputed islands known as Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China. Taiwan also claims the islands, which are controlled by Japan.  Part of the zone also overlaps with a submerged rock claimed by South Korea.”

Why China wants to dominate Bitcoin

It could also help China exert more economic influence over commodity-rich Africa. Digital currencies like Bitcoin are already set to take off there and ring financial inclusion to 2.5 billion of the world’s most under-banked. In Africa, this could mean the destruction of weak country currencies, large scale consumer adoption via mobile payments, and Chinese financial supremacy in Africa. For America, oil contracts from non-OPEC countries denominated in Bitcoin would pose significant threats.”

Mongolia pushing for rail, pipeline links with China, Russia, official says

“Mongolia has agreed to establish a working group with China to oversee the construction of new road, rail and pipeline infrastructure connecting the two countries with Russia, a member of a Mongolian government delegation to Beijing said.  The official, speaking to Reuters on condition of anonymity, said landlocked Mongolia aimed to become a ‘transit corridor’ to facilitate trade between its two giant neighbours and reduce the costs of delivering Russian commodities like oil and natural gas to energy-hungry Chinese markets.”

Cameron Announces U.K. Plans for Debut Issue of Islamic Gilts

“Prime Minister David Cameron said the U.K. plans to become the first country outside the Muslim world to sell a Shariah-compliant bond as soon as next year.  Cameron laid out his government’s intentions in a speech to the World Islamic Economic Forum in London. The Islamic bonds, known as sukuk, would be valued at about 200 million pounds ($320 million). Cameron also said London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LSE) is creating an Islamic market index.  Islamic bonds are typically backed by assets or cash flow because of the religion’s ban on interest. About 60 percent of the world’s sukuk is issued from Malaysia, according to Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre.”

One by one, the ‘moderate’ insurgents pledge loyalty to Al-Qaeda and one by one they scoff at the pleas of their benefactor to come to the negotiating table. The US has no influence over these fighters, but still claims to be able to pick a good rebel over a bad one.”
