British SAS Special Forces “Dressed Up as ISIS Rebels” Fighting in Syria

“On August 2, Britain’s Sunday Express newspaper headlined ‘SAS dress as ISIS fighters in undercover war on jihadis,’ saying:  ‘More than 120 members belonging to the elite regiment are currently in the war-torn country’ covertly ‘dressed in black and flying ISIS flags,’ engaged in what’s called Operation Shader – attacking Syrian targets on the pretext of combatting ISIS.  The latest revelation comes two weeks after learning Prime Minister David Cameron last year approved British warplanes joining US ones in bombing Syria despite parliamentary rejection in August 2013.  At least part of its current covert ground operation is under US command – so-called ‘smash’ units.”

Lawmakers Vote to Let Obama Take Your Passport Without Trial

“The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted to give the Obama administration the unilateral power to strip you of your passport and right to travel without a trial or even criminal charges. The scheme does not even include a way to challenge your status as a non-person involuntarily trapped inside U.S. borders on orders from the secretary of state. Lawmakers, some of whom could themselves be caught in the dragnet along with myriad administration officials, praised the effort as a way to stop alleged terrorists from travelling. But critics said it was yet another attack on the fundamental rights of Americans, such as due-process protections, and that it must be resisted.”

There’s a Good Chance Your Bank Is Committing a Major Crime Right Now

“You probably will be very surprised to learn who aided and abetted the drug operation: it was US banking giant Wachovia.  After an investigation that took years, Wells Fargo, which now owns Wachovia, paid a $160 million fine to settle the case. You might also be surprised to hear that Wachovia’s fine wasn’t an isolated case.  Citibank was caught laundering money for a Mexican drug kingpin in 2001.  American Express Bank admitted to laundering $55 million in drug money in 2007.  And the FBI accused Bank of America of helping a Mexican drug cartel hide money in 2012.  You’ve probably never heard these stories before. The big banks pay a lot of money to keep it that way.”

Congress’s Plans to Lock You in

“Congress ratified the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on April 2, 1992. But it’s now having second thoughts.  The ‘right to travel’ makes some politicians very nervous.  In May, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) introduced legislation that would seize the passport of any US citizen with ‘seriously delinquent tax debts.’ This is the fourth year in a row that Hatch, or other Big Government apologists, have introduced this measure.  The proposal requires no hearing or any other due process to grab your passport. All that’s needed is for the IRS to issue a ‘Notice of Levy’ for any amount greater than $50,000. This is a letter informing you that the IRS thinks you owe it money.”

Texas Town Charging Reporters $79,000 for Emails About Cop Abuse

“Days after McKinney, Texas, police officer Eric Casebolt was filmed pointing his service weapon at a group of unarmed black teenagers at a pool party this month, Gawker submitted a Public Information Act request to the city of McKinney asking to see Casebolt’s records and any emails about his conduct sent or received by McKinney Police Department employees. Today, we received a letter from the city’s attorneys claiming that fulfilling our request would cost $79,229.09.  Since when are year-old emails not searchable? Is the city of McKinney still corresponding via telegram?”

Amazon Bans Confederate Flags, Still Sells Nazi Merchandise

“Online retail giant Amazon’s Monday decision to ban the sale of merchandise depicting the Confederate flag has many Americans scratching their heads, as a quick review of Amazon’s site reveals the company still sells Nazi flags.  For just $7.35, Amazon shoppers can pick up this Nazi SS flag, depicting the symbol of Adolf Hitler’s ‘Schutzstaffel’ who helped carry out Germany’s annihilation of 6,000,000 Jews during the Holocaust. Coffee drinkers may instead prefer this ‘#hitler’ mug, which comes in several styles and colors, now available for $20.99 with free shipping.”

Jacob Hornberger: Will U.S. Soldiers Soon Be Dying for Communism?

hornberger1

“The fact is that the United States could have done without the entire national-security establishment and it’s much-vaunted, meaningless term ‘national security’ and lived in peaceful coexistence with Vietnam, the Soviet Union, Cuba, China, Nicaragua, Grenada, and other communist regimes.  How do we know this? Look at Vietnam. It’s still headed by a brutal communist regime. And yet the U.S. national-security establishment is not invading the country again to save the Vietnamese people (and the American people) from communism. That’s how it could have been throughout the Cold War, including with the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Nicaragua, Chile, Guatemala, and other nations.”

Is Your Out-of-State LLC “Doing Business” in California?

“Note that the FTB’s determination of when an out-of-state LLC must file tax returns is in contrast with the California Corporations Code.  Under the California Corporations Code, any entity that ‘actively engages in any transaction in California for the purpose of financial gain or profit’ must register with the Secretary of State.  But an out-of-state corporation is not considered to be transacting business in California merely because it is a member or a manager of a domestic or out-of-state LLC [..].  Moreover, the new California Revised Uniform Limited Liability Company Act of January 1, 2014 provides that an out-of-state LLC ‘may’ register in California and does not impose penalties for failing to do so.”

LA Unions Demand Exemption from $15 Minimum Wage They Created

“Unions want to give workers and business the option — the freedom! — to prioritize what’s important to them and negotiate their own pay! Isn’t that nice. But only if those workers are paying union dues, and only if those businesses are using union labor.  The minimum wage hike was always meant to make independent workers more expensive and make unions look better by comparison. But it’s a bold move for the unions to simply say, in one breath, ‘Everyone deserves a living wage! It’ll be good for everyone! Except us, thank you. We’ll set our own pay — and also, give a break to any businesses who agree to go back to union labor.'”

US warns China not to challenge military flights over South China Sea

“The U.S. warned China Thursday against confronting U.S. aerial patrols over the South China Sea days after a verbal dispute between a Chinese military dispatcher and a U.S. Navy surveillance aircraft.  The Los Angeles Times reported that the Navy released two videos and an audio recording of the confrontation, which took place on Wednesday when the Chinese dispatcher demanded eight times that the Navy P8-A Poseidon leave the area as it flew over Fiery Cross Reef in the Spratly Island chain, where China has conducted extensive reclamation work.  China claims virtually the entire South China Sea as its own, along with its scattered island groups.”
