Ferguson is an occupation in plain sight

“An alderman was arrested. Reporters from the Washington Post and Huffington Post were arrested. An Al Jazeera America news crew was attacked with teargas and had their equipment dismantled. Nonviolent protestors were confronted by a police department that is, in fact, an armed militia. The crowd stood before armored personnel carriers and men wearing Swat gear. There were snipers, aiming their rifles at unarmed, nonviolent citizens. The catalyst for all this was the killing of 18-year-old unarmed Mike Brown by an unnamed police officer later placed on paid administrative leave. He is being protected and compensated in the wake of Brown’s death.”

AK-47s become hot commodity after U.S. sanctions

“Here’s a surprising effect of the latest U.S. sanctions against Russia: a run on AK-47s.  Among the companies sanctioned this week was Kalashnikov Concern, the maker of the gun. The Obama administration issued sanctions against Russian companies in response to Russia’s role in a separatist movement in Ukraine. According to the Treasury Department, Kalashnikov Concern is banned from importing its guns — including the AK-47 and more advanced AK-74 — into the United States. But, in a statement posted on its Web site, Treasury said Americans are allowed to own, buy and sell the guns, so long as they were already in the U.S. prior to the sanctions.”

IRS Needs AR-15′s For “Standoff Capabilities”? [2013]

“The IRS, which primarily acts as an audit agency, refuses to answer why its agents need AR-15s for ‘standoff capability.’  Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC) wanted to know why IRS agents were buying ammo in large quantities and wanted to see the ammo supply himself.  He went to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Maryland where he witnessed 8 or 9 IRS agents using AR-15s at an indoor 100 yard firing range.  Agencies like the Department of Education, the Social Security Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the IRS continue to purchase large amounts of tactical weapons and ammunition to build up their law enforcement divisions.”

The Retention of Wealth
