“Once again, major corporations are exempt from the laws that heavily apply to the average citizen. One Idaho woman found out in 2011 that misuse of government seals really can land you in jail when you don’t have billions of dollars. Found to be illegally using a phony government seal (sound familiar?), one Caldwell, Idaho woman now faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release — the sentence that applies to the average citizen.”

“The Obama administration will not just sit by and watch as up to three states attempt to implement laws legalizing marijuana, one of the president’s former senior drug policy advisers predicted Sunday. Dr. Kevin A. Sabet, who spent three years as a senior adviser to Obama’s Office of National Drug Control Policy, warned that voters in Colorado, Washington and Oregon may just bring fire and brimstone down on their heads if they vote for ballot measures that would legalize marijuana under state law.”

“In the wake of the passage of the FAA Reauthorization Act, it is expected that at least 30,000 drones will occupy U.S. airspace by 2020. In alerting the state legislatures to the dangers posed by drones to citizens’ privacy and civil liberties, The Rutherford Institute has made model legislation available, titled ‘Freedom from Drone Surveillance Act,’ that would not only prohibit state governments from using data recorded via police spy drones in criminal prosecutions but would also prevent police agencies from utilizing drones outfitted with anti-personnel devices such as tasers and tear gas.”

“The Honduran Supreme Court has ruled unconstitutional a project to build privately-run cities, with their own police and tax system. The ‘model cities’ project was backed by President Porfirio Lobo, who said it would attract foreign investment and create jobs. By 13 votes to one, Supreme Court judges decided that the proposal violated the principle of sovereignty. An American company was expected to invest US$15m in the initial phase of construction of the first city, on the Caribbean coast. The inspiration for his ‘model cities’ were Singapore, Macao and Hong Kong, President Lobo said.”

“Arizonans will vote next month on a ballot proposal to give the state control over the Grand Canyon – the latest move in the so-called ‘sagebrush revolt’ in which western states are trying to reclaim federal land. The issue was put on the ballot after the proposal passed the Republican-controlled legislature. It would amend the state constitution to give Arizona sovereignty and jurisdiction over not just the Grand Canyon but all the ‘air, water, public lands, minerals, wildlife and other natural resources’ within its boundaries.”

“Residents in in five cities in California, Texas and Washington state have battled for the right to have a say in whether automated ticketing machines are installed in their community. The November 6 results could raise to 25 the total number of municipalities nationwide that prohibit cameras. Anaheim and Newport Beach are unique in having councils propose the charter amendment. Elsewhere, photo ticketing companies and city leaders fought the ballot measures at every step of the way.”
“It is time for the restoration of formerly independent countries, each with their own unique cultural and ethnic heritage, that were forced at gunpoint into larger empire states. Venice wants out of Italy, Catalonia out of Spain, Bavaria out of Germany, Scotland and Wales want to leave the United Kingdom, the Flemish want out of Belgium. Even Vermont and some in the South want to regain their former status as sovereign republics separate from the most debt-ridden empire in world history, the U.S. Just as important, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Spain and Portugal – with demands in Germany itself – want to leave the EU and euro witches’ brew created by their leaders.”

“On Thursday, yet another local government condemned detention provisions written into the National Defense Authorization Act. The Oakland County, Mich. Board of Commissioners unanimously approved its Support for the Preservation of Liberty resolution Thursday evening. Oakland County joins Allegan County in Michigan, and at least 15 local government bodies nationwide, taking a stand against federal kidnapping. Sources close to the Tenth Amendment Center indicate at least another dozen local and county governments are considering similar resolutions.”

“In 1946, the people of Athens, Tennessee, overthrew their local sheriff’s department. Wyoming has passed a law stating that any federal agent who enforces any federal law on a Wyoming firearm is subject to a year in prison. Throwing bricks at the police led to LGBT rights. Four towns in Maine have declared they are sovereign nations. And in certain situations, it is legal to kill a police officer.”
