Carney Gets Ready to Blow Up the World

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“This article is truly scary. Like a bullet across the bow, or the crack of a whip, it announces with certainty that the world’s top bankers intend to blanket the world with faux currency.  Carney was said by his central banking peers to be the ‘best’ central banker of his generation and his recent choice to head the Bank of England was therefore preordained. In fact, we figured that was a bit like being the ‘best’ used car salesman. But we were wrong. It’s worse, much worse. What this article in the Financial Times tells us is that Carney was brought in not just to glad-hand the media and put a sympathetic face on this bloody and miserable facility, but his real brief is to use its powers to the utmost.”

A Confiscation Tax is Headed Your Way …

“Scariest of all in the IMF’s assessment is the phrase: ‘If it is implemented before avoidance is possible.’ The IMF reflexively recognizes that the medicine it prescribes will not go down without force, and that those of us who can will rapidly seek ways to keep the government’s greedy paws away from our personal wealth. To counter that, the IMF implicitly advocates a blitzkrieg approach to governmental thievery. Imagine waking up some random Monday to find that the federal government has imposed a week-long ‘bank holiday’ that limits your access to your own money to maybe $200 a day through an ATM, and that the government is imposing a new ‘wealth tax’. Can’t happen here in America?”

Salon: One World After All

Anthony-Wile1

“An article in Salon is entitled ‘Elites’ strange plot to take over the world.’  It is basically an admission of the entire globalist enterprise over the past half-century or so. It clearly admits what we all know – that top Western elites have been in an open conspiracy to merge the world, at least the Western world, under one legislative, economic and military regime. What makes the article important? Well … start with its writer, Matt Stoller, who ‘has a background in financial journalism and was a fellow at the [technocratic/socialist] Roosevelt Institute and an editor of the financial site Naked Capitalism.'”

Finally, the End of Keynesianism

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“Are you a Keynesian? So many seem to be. Do you really believe that a properly functioning, mathematically literate approach to high finance can salvage what’s left of the financial systems of the US, the West, the entire world?  Top central bankers apparently don’t. Just look at this article excerpt. They’ve retreated from the idea of tapering until 2014 and Peter Schiff was probably correct that they won’t really taper at all because they can’t.  That should put an end to Keynesianism, though probably it won’t. The technocratic meme of money control is the most cherished of all dominant social themes.”

Plans for Political Union Unravel in Europe

“Advocates of tighter integration believe that the euro zone needs to go further by borrowing elements from the American system of federalism. Many proposals reflect a belief that the euro zone needs to partially mimic the U.S., where the dollar works well across all states partly because of budgets, bonds, financial oversight and depositor protection at the national level.  Over the past year, however, the political winds have shifted. Interviews with more than a dozen officials across Europe reveal how plans for deeper integration have run aground as financial markets have calmed and mistrust has simmered between power centers including Berlin, Brussels and Paris.”

Former Polish president calls for new ‘secular Ten Commandments’

“‘We need to agree on common values for all religions as soon as possible, a kind of secular Ten Commandments on which we will build the world of tomorrow,’ he said in an opening speech kicking off the three-day summit.  Besides universal values, the international community needs to focus on the economy of tomorrow, he said. ‘That’s definitely neither communism nor capitalism as we have it today,’ said the former shipyard electrician, who became Poland’s first post-war democratic president.”

France tells U.S. to stop snooping but cools dispute

“Asked if France was considering any form of reprisals against the United States over the NSA’s conduct, government spokeswoman Najat Vallaud-Belkacem played down the possibility.  ‘It is up to Foreign Minister Fabius to decide what line we take but I don’t think there is any need for an escalation (of the situation),’ Vallaud-Belkacem told France 2 television.  ‘We have to have a respectful relationship between partners, between allies. Our confidence in that has been hit but it is after all a very close, individual relationship that we have.’  US officials have acknowledged that the French have a legitimate basis for complaint but described some of the reporting on the NSA program as ‘distorted.'”

Swiss bank exec fleeing from U.S. government arrested in Italian hotel

“A former top executive at Swiss banking giant UBS wanted in the United States for allegedly helping wealthy Americans hide $20 billion from the taxman has been arrested in Italy, police said on Sunday.  Raoul Weil, 54, had been staying in a luxury hotel in the city of Bologna where he checked in under his real name, triggering a police check because he is on an international fugitive list.  Weil, who was chairman of the global wealth management service at UBS in Zurich, was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2008 for his alleged role in overseeing the US cross-border business.  The Swiss national always denied the charges and had been declared a fugitive by the US courts.”

Swedish minister declares his support for principles to protect privacy

“Foreign Minister Carl Bildt acknowledged that internet governance is being challenged, as some States operate vast surveillance systems without any laws of oversight whatsoever, and others are preparing for offensive operations on the net.  The Foreign Minister called for the application of the principles of Legality, Legitimate Aim, Necessity, Adequacy, Proportionality, Judicial Authority, Transparency and Public Oversight to the conduct of online surveillance by States. Each of these principles forms part of the 13 International Principles, an initiative instigated by Privacy International and EFF in October 2012, well before the revelations of widespread NSA and GCHQ surveillance.”

U.N. torture investigator seeks access to California’s prison isolation units

“Juan Mendez, the United Nation’s special monitor on torture, told the Los Angeles Times on Friday that he wanted access to California prisons in order to determine whether inmates held in solitary were having their rights protected.  He argued that ‘[w]e should have more justification’ for placing prisoners in isolated confinement, and that ‘[w]e should put the burden on the state that this is the proper way to do things, and we should all be a lot more skeptical.’  California has an estimated 10,000 inmates currently being held in isolation units, and most of them are there because of gang affiliations.”
