David Cameron knew UK pilots were bombing Isis in Syria

“David Cameron knew UK pilots were involved in US-led bombing missions of Isis targets in Syria, even though parliament had expressly rejected British military involvement in the country in 2013.  The prime minister’s spokeswoman said on Friday that up to a dozen pilots had been involved since September, but they were not operating under a British chain of command. ‘The PM was aware that UK personnel were involved in US operations and what they were doing.’ Details of British personnel’s involvement in strikes by allied nations’ forces were revealed by a freedom of information request by the pressure group Reprieve.”

Cameron’s EU Demand Letter Just Deepens His Domestic Dilemma

“The prime minister will go public this week with a long-awaited list of measures aimed at redefining the terms of Britain’s EU membership before an in-or-out referendum he’s pledged to hold by the end of 2017.   With the referendum campaign under way, investors are being warned to wake up to the threat of the U.K. leaving the 28-nation bloc in a vote that might come as early as next year. German Chancellor Angela Merkel and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker are among the leaders to have said they want to help Britain stay in the EU, and that will require acceding to as many of Cameron’s demands as they can stomach.”

US and UK laws will entrench surveillance powers across the Atlantic

“The draft Investigatory Powers bill has just been published in the UK while the US senate has voted through a proposed Cybesecurity Information Sharing Act.  Both nations are pursuing an aggressive path toward entrenching surveillance powers at the cost of citizens’ privacy. Both bills disregard privacy considerations: CISA through its power that subordinates other laws, the Investigatory Powers bill by expressly authorising bulk data collection with very little meaningful independent oversight.  It is hard to see how either of these bills is even a nod in the right direction.  They read like a confirmation that business as usual continues for the likes of the NSA and GCHQ.”

As Passport Wars Heat Up, Time to Consider Countermeasures

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“Britain is not alone in using the passport system as a method of attacking those who for one reason or another are deemed ‘enemies of the state’ – or potential enemies. The US is doing its best as well.  One English-speaking country that already routinely confiscates or suspends passport Is Australia. It is hard to remember that this modern quasi-comprehensive passport system is basically less than 100 years old. In the 1800s, it was often considered unusual and sometimes even insulting to have to identify oneself with officially issued documents when traveling privately. All that changed before World War II with the introduction of Interpol and the passport system.”

Oligarchies Masquerading as Democracies

portallogo3

“The creation of the Federal Reserve System in 1913 was the re-establishment of the oligarchs’ lender of last resort. That meant that the federal debt would become the foundation of the entire economy: debt purchased by the central bank to balloon the monetary base. To pay off the debt would create mass deflation and depression. The oligarchs now have immunity. Congress will not order an independent audit of the FED.  The model is the Bank of England. It has been the chief insurance agency of the Anglo-American oligarchy ever since 1694. The ‘Glorious Revolution’ of 1688/89 was in fact the symbolic triumph of the oligarchs over the king.”

ObamaTrade: Total Surrender to the NWO

portallogo3

“It does not take 5,544 pages of legal verbage written by international lawyer-bureaucrats to obtain free trade. What it takes is for legislatures to reduce tariffs and import quotas. That is all it has ever taken: a willingness of politicians to stop passing laws that insulate inefficient domestic producers from foreign competitors who better satisfy the demand of residents of a nation. All it takes is for the government to stop hiring customs agents with badges and guns to tell citizens that they have to pay a discriminatory sales tax to buy something from across a national border.  ObamaTrade is the surrender of national sovereignty on a scale that is mind-boggling.”

W.H.O. lists bacon alongside cigarettes, asbestos as carcinogens

“The WHO is set to list beef, bacon and sausage alongside cigarettes and asbestos as cancer causing agents, the Daily Mail reported this week.  The publication said the health body is expected to go further than most scientific studies, by saying processed meat actually causes cancer.  According to the report, the decision is due on Monday, and comes on the heels of a meeting of scientists from ten different countries that reviewed a broad array of data.”

No More “Free Trade” Treaties: It’s Time for Genuine Free Trade

“In 2012 we endured a fresh attempt by our governments to reduce our freedom to create and share intellectual works with the ACTA. And, if we look at the negotiations mandates of these trade agreements, we can see they all include a chapter on the reinforcement of ‘intellectual property’ rights. Intellectual property has become a key concept of the international economy. But this must not hide its illegitimacy.  Each time a new ‘free trade’ treaty is enacted, what is seen is the attenuation of tariff barriers, but what is not seen is the sneaky proliferation and harmonization of non-tariff barriers impeding free enterprise and creating monopolies at an international scale.”

Wikileaks release of TPP deal text stokes ‘freedom of expression’ fears

“TPP was negotiated in secret and details have yet to be published.  One chapter appears to give the signatory countries (referred to as ‘parties’) greater power to stop embarrassing information going public. The treaty would give signatories the ability to curtail legal proceedings if the theft of information is ‘detrimental to a party’s economic interests, international relations, or national defense or national security’ – in other words, presumably, if a trial would cause the information to spread. The rules also state that every country has the authority to immediately give the name and address of anyone importing detained goods to whoever owns the intellectual property.”

UN denies Richard Branson’s claim it will call for drug decriminalisation

“Branson said he and his colleagues on the drugs policy commission could not be more delighted at the move, given that he had argued for years that drug use should be treated as a health issue rather than a crime.  Within hours of his claim, however, UNODC made it clear that no such change in policy was imminent and said it regretted an ‘unfortunate misunderstanding’. Branson appears to have anticipated that the UN body would not back a global decriminalisation call. ‘As I’m writing this I am hearing that at least one government is putting an inordinate amount of pressure on the UNODC.'”
