Scottish company Maidsafe claims to have built a Bitcloud-like system

Teenage Hacker Transforms Web Into One Giant Bitcoin Network

Airbnb might be closer to accepting Bitcoin: CEO requests opinions

At least, the company’s co-founder and CEO, Brian Chesky, decided to ask his followers’ opinion on Twitter regarding this possibility.  The answer was overall positive, with dozens of people asking the company to take this step forward and become one of the first platforms of its kind to accept the cryptocurrency.  Airbnb is an online platform that lists thousands of houses, apartments and bedrooms available for short-term rental in 34,000 cities across the world. It is especially appropriate for people on vacations who would rather stay in a house than in a hotel.”

“With Eat With, Side Tour, VoulezVousDiner and Feastly, a new food trend that is sweeping cities allows diners to enjoy fine meals inside someone else’s home. Think of it as Airbnb for hungry people.  It’s easy to think these sites are all about the food, but they’re not. The food is often just an excuse for what can essentially be a really great party with a bunch of people you’ve never met.  Recently I went to a ‘taco party’ I found through the Eat With website. I paid $40 to go to the home of two fun-loving Latinas. They have a great apartment, filled with art, just across from the Brooklyn Museum. As soon as their guests arrived, they made it a point to shove rum drinks into our hands.”

Reddit hosting firearm sales, even licensing logo for assault rifles

“Users of the online forum Reddit took advantage of a community page to purchase at least 150 firearms, including semi-automatic rifles, since June, highlighting the potential to exploit a common loophole in federal gun law online.  The subreddit page GunsForSale has been an active spot for gun buyers and sellers since 2011, offering over 1,000 listings from more than 400 Reddit users in the last six months, according to an investigation by Mother Jones.  Since June, at least 159 transactions have taken place on GunsForSale, according to over 100 Redditors who used the subreddit’s automated tool for verifying sales and assessing sellers, Mother Jones detailed.”
