German Gold Repatriation Accelerating

“The Bloomberg headline and story suggest that the German gold repatriation schedule – to ship home 300 tonnes of gold from the US and 374 tonnes from France by 2020, in order to have half (1695.3 tonnes) of Germans official gold reserves stored in Frankfurt – will be halted as German politicians decided their gold ‘is safe in American hands’.  The Bloomberg story has reached many which are still under the assumption Germany has stopped repatriating its gold from the US and France. To get official confirmation on the continuation of Germany’s gold repatriation I asked the BuBa’s press department a few questions in August, their answers were very clear.”

FBI created fake Seattle Times Web page to nab bomb-threat suspect

“The FBI in Seattle created a fake news story on a bogus Seattle Times web page to plant software in the computer of a suspect in a series of bomb threats to Lacey’s Timberline High School in 2007, according to documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) in San Francisco.  The deception was publicized Monday when Christopher Soghoian, the principal technologist for the American Civil Liberties Union in Washington, D.C., revealed it on Twitter.   In an interview, Soghoian called the incident ‘outrageous’ and said the practice could result in ‘significant collateral damage to the public trust’ if law enforcement begins co-opting the media for its purposes.”

Ukraine’s ‘Romantic’ Nazi Storm Troopers

“The U.S. mainstream media’s deeply biased coverage of the Ukraine crisis – endlessly portraying the U.S.-backed  coup regime in Kiev as ‘the good guys’ – reached a new level of absurdity over the weekend as the Washington Post excused the appearance of Swastikas and other Nazi symbols among a Ukrainian government militia as ‘romantic.’ The article finds nothing objectionable about Azov’s plans for ‘sabotage, targeted assassinations and other insurgent tactics’ against Russians, although such actions are often regarded as terrorism. For the first time since World War II, a government had dispatched Nazi storm troopers to attack a European population.”

How we’d cover Ferguson if it happened in another country

“Chinese and Russian officials are warning of a potential humanitarian crisis in the restive American province of Missouri, where ancient communal tensions have boiled over into full-blown violence.  ‘We must use all means at our disposal to end the violence and restore calm to the region,’ Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in comments to an emergency United Nations Security Council session on the America crisis.  The crisis began a week ago in Ferguson, a remote Missouri village that has been a hotbed of sectarian tension. State security forces shot and killed an unarmed man, which regional analysts say has angered the local population.”

These are Soviet Union style numbers. Or numbers that might have generated from a poll of Chinese during the depth of the starvation generated by Mao’s ruinous Great Leap Forward. For the longest time, we’ve been told that the horrible numbers associated with US Congress – confidence is reportedly in the single digits now – must be tempered by people’s affection for their OWN congress-people. But if these larger numbers are to be believed, then the lack of support for Congress must be a fairly accurate assessment.”

This is the same editorial board and opinions page that would with great frequency in the 1980s/90s publish some of the most stridently pro-cannabis prohibition editorials and columns found anywhere in the world, let alone from the urbane and ‘liberal’ New York Times, led by ardent cannabis foe, former editor and columnist A.M. As well, it reveals that Nurse Nayirah was in fact Nijirah al-Sabah, the daughter of Kuwait’s ambassador to the United States Saud Nasir Al-Sabah, coached by Hill & Knowlton to forge her infamous testimony about Iraqi soldiers removing babies from incubators, which was widely reported and repeated throughout the media.”
