Please, for Heaven’s Sake, DON’T CALL THE POLICE

“Michael Kelly of Clayton, Georgia did what he believed to be his duty as a law-abiding citizen. As a result, he and his wife were arrested and spent two days in jail, and nearly lost custody of their 9-year-old son to the department of child services.  Michael Kelly’s family has joined the ever-growing roster of innocent victims who can testify that it is NEVER a good idea to call the police for ANY reason.”

POLICING FOR PROFIT: Feds try to take innocent elderly couple’s Mom-and-Pop motel

“Because their property was worth one million dollars and carried no mortgage, and because a handful of drug crimes had taken place on the property over 20 years (which represent less than .05 percent of the 125,000 rooms the Caswells rented over that period of time), the federal government is trying to take the Caswell’s property through civil forfeiture, sell the land and keep the money. Under a process known as ‘equitable sharing,’ the federal government would keep 20 percent of what they net and the local police department would pocket 80 percent.”

Protesters banned from tax title auction; 1 man arrested for using video camera

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/11759673-large2.jpg

“During a public auction of town-owned properties on Thursday, only registered bidders were allowed to attend, the media and other members of the public were banned, and a New Hampshire man was arrested.  One of the four properties that was auctioned was seized for non-payment of taxes from Bondsville call firefighter Joseph ‘Jay’ Noone, who had approximately a half-dozen supporters at the duplex during the open house held before the auction.  Noone, who was evicted from the property last year, owed approximately $35,000 in back taxes and legal fees. The auction netted $90,000 in revenues for the town.”

Soros Ex-Wife Lists Apartment for $50 Million

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/25soros-span-articleLarge1.jpg

“Susan Weber Soros, the former wife of the billionaire financier and philanthropist George Soros, has listed her elegantly appointed 10-room apartment at the Majestic, the soaring dual-towered Art Deco co-op at 115 Central Park West, for $50 million. It is being offered fully furnished — Ms. Soros is downsizing and making a clean break — and the price includes a separate one-bedroom one-bath unit for staff. Ms. Soros bought the apartment for $25 million in an under-the-radar transaction in 2006, a year after her two-decade marriage to Mr. Soros ended in divorce.”

Sales Prices on Existing Family Homes and What It Means for 2013

http://freedomwat.ch/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/FIGURE3181.png

“Keep in mind that it is a Bernanke manipulated climb in prices. The capital goods sector (including housing) get the money first, but then it works its way to the consumer sector. Translation: As long as Bernanke continues to print aggressively, housing prices will continue to climb, eventually translating into higher prices for everyday consumer goods.  2013 is likely to be a very bad year for the economy—with tax hikes on top of it.”

Doug Casey on how to Hedge Against Political Risk in the Greater Depression

“Welcome to Capital Account. Tonight, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama meet for their final Presidential debate, amid tightening polls. While the candidates face off on foreign policy, we talk to our guest, Doug Casey of Casey Research, about his own foreign policy strategy: the strategy of “the international man.” We talk to Doug Casey about the increasing number of Americans who are moving their money and property off-shore, and about a smaller, albeit growing number of Americans choosing to renounce their citizenship entirely. What are these people afraid of, and who or what are they trying to hide from?”

Chattanooga man sues police officer after injury

“A Chattanooga man is suing police after he had to undergo surgery to repair a rotator cuff injury he claims was caused by their mistreatment.  Greg Luther claims in the $400,000 suit that he wanted to photograph a car crash that damaged his fence and retaining wall. Officer Brian Blumenberg told him he could not photograph the crime scene.  When Luther asked to speak to a supervisor, Blumenberg threw him to the ground, handcuffed him and put him in the back of a patrol car, the suit states.”

How to Generate Income From the Needs of a Hungry World

“Speculators and hedge funds are hopscotching across the U.S. farm-belt these days, grabbing tracts of land to profit from the rising demand for food.  But even better opportunities exist beyond America. Like, for instance, a patch of Earth that has some of the most productive farm and cattle lands on the planet. It’s a place where we can own an asset of true substance and, in a world of near-zero yield, generate additional income. And if the U.S. ever goes pear-shaped, it gives us a place to call home in one of the most-livable countries in the world.  Though it’s tiny in size, Uruguay is an ag juggernaut.”
