“Apparantly Iran’s State TV photoshopped sleeves onto Michelle Obama’s dress when she was busy propagandizing at the Oscars.  How horrible, right?  Blatant censorship. Perhaps the neocons are right…the ‘force for good’ must do battle with ‘the axis of evil’. The ‘force for good’ must (with bombs and tanks) set those poor citizens free. Their government only portrays to them what their government wants them to see.  Over on this side of the Earth, where ‘the force for good’ resides, we have ‘freedom of the press’ and tolerance.”

“The United States did not collapse last Friday when the package of spending reductions known as ‘sequestration’ went into effect. The financial markets hardly blinked, as they have come to be more skeptical about these periodic government-hyped ‘crises.’  What had been portrayed as a drastic reduction in government spending was merely a decrease in the projected rate of increase in government spending over the next decade. Under sequestration, government spending increases by $2.4 trillion over the next 10 years rather than $2.5 trillion without it.  So we are speeding toward collapse at only 100 miles per hour instead of 110 miles per hour.”

“The ‘Champion of Liberty’ himself has admitted that the government is fully aware of the potential for civil unrest in the United States and is even preparing for it.  Ron Paul commented on the ‘domestic arms race‘ and the government’s obvious preparation for civil unrest by suggesting that ‘[the government] does not know that in two months from now there’s riots in the streets, but they know that there could be.’ Paul went on to explain that he does not believe the government necessarily believes that civil unrest in America is a certainty but that the elites at all levels of power are making preparations in order to retain their power.”

“While touting the success of its overseas drone program, the US administration refuses to even admit publicly that the CIA has an overseas drone program. In response to a recent ACLU Freedom of Information request regarding the existence of the CIA’s drone program, the Department of Justice responded, ‘The very fact of the existence or nonexistence of such documents is itself classified.’ How is that for government transparency?  Recently, FAA stated that no armed drones would presently be permitted in US airspace. But what good are the promises of government officials when the Constitution, and especially the Fourth Amendment, has been gutted?”

To secure the borders he is calling for a massive increase in drones flying over US territory, spying on US citizens along the border – and presumably within the 100 mile ‘border zone’ over which Department of Homeland Security claims jurisdiction. Additionally, the McCain/Schumer plan calls for a nationwide, mandatory E-Verify program, which forces employers to act as federal immigration agents, and forces American citizens to prove to the government that they are allowed to work. E-Verify is an East Germany-like program that creates a massive federal database of every American citizen.”

“Where does the president get the authority to become a co-combatant in French operations in Mali, even if US troops are not yet overtly involved in the attack?  How did we get to Mali? Blowback and unintended consequences played key roles. When the president decided to use the US military to attack Libya in 2011, Congress was not consulted. The president claimed that UN and NATO authority for the use of US military force were sufficient and even superior to any kind of congressional declaration. Congress once again relinquished its authority, but also its oversight power, by remaining silent.”
