“As reported by David Knight, California law enforcement is now confiscating legally purchased guns from registered gun owners who have been labeled ‘Armed Prohibited Persons’ (APPs.)  Police shoved two M16s within inches of gun owner Joe Mendez’s face during a raid on his house to seize his legally-purchased firearms.  Fourteen officers total were involved.  Police even showed up later to lie to Mendez’s wife about the raid, saying that they were only taking a report after her car was involved in a ‘hit and run.’ All of the targeted APPs had purchased their firearms legally but the State of California declared afterwards that they were prohibited from gun ownership.”

But the rich, famous, and connected have no issues footing that bill and getting a CCW issued to them.  Yet for every Jon Lennon there are THOUSANDS of John Q Publics murdered because they have had their constitutional rights denied them,  not to mention the tens of thousands raped, robbed or beaten.”

During the early 1990s, as concealed carry laws were being instituted around the country, Lott observed the impact on crime at the county level: ‘When state concealed-carry handgun laws went into effect in a county, murder fell by about 8 percent, rapes fell by 5 percent, and aggravated assaults fell by 7 percent.’ Yet the mainstream media seizes on one criminal use of a gun to ban guns altogether?”

Christian school defies Arkansas attorney general, arms teachers & posts sign

“Two weeks after the attorney general of Arkansas, Dustin McDaniel, forbid the state’s school districts from taking advantage of an obscure law that would have allowed armed teachers to serve as de facto security guards, a private school in Bryant has decided to arm its staff.  Pastor Black previously placed armed security guards outside his Sunday services, and claims that anywhere from one to seven staff members or teachers will be armed on a given day.  Legislation explicitly allowing concealed weapons in schools operated by churches was passed in February of this year.”

An ‘aporkalypse’ has Texas fighting losing battle against feral pig menace

“Dallas created a task force to tackle its pig problem and it is cooperating with affected neighbouring cities such as Arlington and Fort Worth. It is illegal for civilians to discharge a firearm inside Dallas’ city limits so the hogs must be caught and then slaughtered elsewhere.  The number of feral hogs in Texas is predicted to grow by 16% annually, roughly doubling in five years. They already cause an estimated $52m in damage to the state’s agriculture industry each year. And they are becoming partial to the comforts of suburban life.  A proposal allowing bow-hunters to shoot them and donate the meat to the homeless was rejected on safety grounds.”

Gun Owners Promote Open Carry With Demonstration In Fort Smith

“Gun advocates, who want to roll back certain restrictions on firearms, plan on holding a demonstration in Fort Smith on Saturday.  Arkansas Carry is a nonprofit organization that supports gun owners, promotes the Second Amendment, and backs efforts to remove bans on the open carry of handguns in the state. Steve Jones is the chairman of the group. He says Act 746, which was passed by the legislature this year and went into effect last Friday, allows owners to openly carry guns in the state.”

One By One, California Agents Track Down Illegally Owned Guns

“In a recent operation, a caravan of four unmarked trucks traversed the bedroom communities of San Francisco’s East Bay. The trucks carry nine state agents wearing bulletproof vests and armed with .40-caliber Glock pistols and Tasers. They’ll spend the next six hours looking for illegal guns, explains Special Agent Kisu Yo of the California Department of Justice.  Beginning In 2007, California officials began collecting names from court records, medical facilities and lists of known or wanted criminals, then cross-referenced them against the federal instant criminal background check system for gun-buyers. The list is updated every day.”

Los Angeles City College Trustees Ban the Word “Gun” From Course Catalog

“If a book has the word gun in it, the book is not subject to the ban, but no mention of it must appear in the catalog. Otherwise, it would give the wrong idea. Scott Svonkin, the Vice President of the Board of Trustees, introduced the ban. He explained his position. The school must not teach students how to use guns. The faculty must promote gun control. ‘We should make sure that students don’t come to campus being afraid to run into somebody with a gun.’ The ban includes non-operational guns. They scare students. When asked what a non-operational gun is, he said he had no idea. ‘I’m not an expert in guns,’ he explained.”
