Federal security forces at the Super Bowl

“Super Bowl XLVIII has been declared a level one national security event. Part of that security is to examine every item that is being brought in for Sunday’s big game.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents will work around the clock to X-ray every delivery truck and any other vehicle authorized to enter the MetLife Stadium complex for anything suspicious.  Agents will be looking for smugglers, narcotics, terror activity, and more potential threats.  Throughout Super Bowl week, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will use HCV Mobile Scanning trucks to examine vehicles.  Agents will monitor computer screens to scan anything and everything commercial vehicles will bring in.”

Metal detectors at ballparks by 2015

“Entering a big league ballpark will be a bit like going through an airport by 2015.  Major League Baseball has told its 30 teams they must implement security screening for fans by then, either with hand-held metal detection or walk-through magnetometers.  ‘This procedure, which results from MLB’s continuing work with the Department of Homeland Security to standardize security practices across the game, will be in addition to bag checks that are now uniform throughout MLB,’ baseball spokesman Michael Teevan said Tuesday.  In an effort to increase security this season, the NFL limited the size and type of bags fans can bring to games.”

Fifty States of Fear

“Even though the U.S. has revoked freedoms during wartime (and for some groups in peacetime), for most of its history the people have not been under the yoke of an all-powerful sovereign. However, since 9/11 leaders of both political parties in the United States have sought to consolidate power by leaning not just on the danger of a terrorist attack, but on the fact that the possible perpetrators are frightening individuals who are not like us.  Last year President Obama brought the enemy closer to home, arguing that ‘we face a real threat from radicalized individuals here in the U.S.‘ — radicalized individuals who were ‘deranged or alienated individuals — often U.S. citizens or legal residents.'”

Two Tier Travel Becoming a Reality in the US?

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“These so-called expedited screenings will allow military personnel to keep their footwear on as well as light outerwear while proceeding through security. Additionally, they can keep their laptop in its case, and keep their compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on item at select screening lanes. [..] Capital controls and travel restrictions are typical of authoritarian societies … as is the glorification of the military and the bestowal of additional privileges on those who serve. These are not trends that bode well for American democratic exceptionalism nor for the West in general.  Those who understand will doubtless heed warning signs and take appropriate action.”

Obama visits family of slain TSA officer

“President Barack Obama visited Monday with the family of TSA officer Gerardo Hernandez, who was killed at Los Angeles International Airport earlier this month.  The President also met with Tony Grigsby and James Speer — two other TSA officers who were wounded in the November 1 shooting incident.  A gunman stormed a terminal at the airport on November 1, killing Hernandez and injuring several others.  Hernandez is the first TSA officer to die in the line of duty.  Officers shot suspect Paul Ciancia multiple times during the assault.  He is in the custody of U.S. marshals, charged with the murder of a federal officer and commission of violence at an international airport.”

TSA Rolls Out ‘Detention Pods’ at Airport Terminal Exits

“The TSA is funding the rollout of exit pods at major airport terminals across the country that temporarily detain passengers before they are allowed to leave, another example critics say of how the federal agency’s policies treat travelers as prisoners.  Travelers are forced to be bottlenecked through the pods as they leave the airport terminal. A robotic voice gives instructions to wait inside the pod until a green light is shown and the door opens. The pods have already been installed at Syracuse International Airport as part of a $60 million dollar renovation and are likely to make their way into other major airports soon. Once travelers exit the pods, they are unable to re-enter the terminal.”

Guy Builds Bomb Using Only Items Bought After Airport Security

“Don’t allow the TSA illusion of security to fool you. You Tube user Terminal Cornucopia constructs what he terms a home-made ‘FRAGGuccino’ from items one can easily purchase after airport screening.  Using only a stainless steel coffee mug, a Li-ion AA battery, along with some Axe Body Spray, a condom, and a bottle of water, this anarchistic MacGyver was able to build and successfully detonate an improvised bomb.  It works by the water filled condom breaking upon impact of the devise being thrown. This shorts the battery, creating heat that ignites the can of Axe body spray.  All that and he didn’t even have to hide it in his shoes.”

Return Airport Security To The Airlines

“In June we reported that a former TSA agent was arrested on felony cocaine charges. This week WKBW reported that Todd Stoddard received a very lenient sentence when he was sentenced to up to five years probation.  I’m not a lawyer, but that seems like a very minimal sentence for being charged with six counts related to possession, sale, and use of cocaine. Apparently, there must be some legal perks that come with TSA employment. On top of that, if Mr. Stoddard has any trouble finding work, he could always find a job working as an ObamaCare navigator.”

Bombshell: TSA’s Docs Reveal Airport Security is B.S.

“Un-redacted documents published on Pacer.gov reveal that or years the TSA has not believed that there is a domestic threat at airports — yet they have continued with the security theatre anyway.”

DoJ Censors Blogger For Posting TSA Documents They Released

“Jon Corbett, the engineer and activist challenging the constitutionality of the TSA’s body scanners and pat downs, has received a call from the Department of Justice stating he violated a court order sealing the documents that Infowars made public yesterday, even though the court had inexplicably published the documents on a public site.  Yesterday, Corbett joined Infowars to discuss our publication of the ‘sealed’ court documents and the information contained therein, including the TSA’s own admissions that they are aware explosives on airplanes ‘are extremely rare,’ and the fact that the minimal level of threat from terrorists does not justify the amount of security currently prescribed at airports.”
