Know your rights, read the Constitution

“Is the government spying on Americans legal and lawful under the Constitution? Perhaps you’ve delegated that decision to the ‘experts’, but my advice is go check it yourself. See the Amendments that cover being secure in your papers and effects. The Constitution isn’t a hard read, although there are many that want to pretend words don’t mean what they obviously mean.  You are naïve to expect some politician or bureaucrat will protect your ownership interests, also known as rights. It’s truly up to you to carefully read the contract between you and the government and to verify that the government is living up to its part of the bargain.  If you don’t know how to run your government it will run you.”

Cop Threatens, Acts Immature After being Caught Breaking Oath

Cop Threatens, Acts Immature After being Caught Breaking Oath

“Officer Gladden of the St Louis Missouri Police Department – Bike Unit, made a choice today. He chose to go against his oath and threaten a U.S. citizen’s 1st amendment right of ‘freedom of the press’ and then threatened to ILLEGALLY seize the same citizen’s camera as ‘evidence.’ This would have been a violation of the citizen’s 4th Amendment rights.  ‘Evidence’ of what Officer Gladden? Evidence that you were casting the Constitution to the ground and threatening to violate someones personal liberties?”

Drone Hunting Season to Begin in Colorado

“Deer Trail, Colorado may be the first town in America to pass a drone hunting ordinance. Although populated by fewer than 600 people, some residents have decided to take a stand on government surveillance, and have requested a ‘drone hunting license’ be passed by ordinance.  Since it was initially proposed at a town council meeting, news of the licensing idea has caught fire, with applications coming in from all over the country. If the ordinance passes, for a mere $25, you can get the right to blast both barrels at a domestic drone… provided it’s over the tiny Colorado town. The federal government, of course, is not pleased about the development.”

Betcha This Government Is Learning To Fear Its Serfs

google-search-header2

Following their tremendous victory in ousting two of Colorado’s dictators, the Basic Freedom Defense Fund (BFDF) and Pueblo Freedoms and Rights (PFR) have drawn a bead on more tyrants. They’re ‘polling all Colorado legislators to gauge their support for repealing the very gun laws at the heart of the recalls.‘  The tone of the questionnaire these folks are sending politicians is especially heartening: polite but insistent, courteous but commanding. From between the lines leaps the warning, ‘Answer this, and do it before our deadline of Sept. 30, because if you don’t, we’ll eject you from your cushy position, too.’ So refreshing to see taxpayers dictating to the leeches rather than the other way around! ”

The People Say No To War

“What happened?  The people happened. Public-opinion polls showed at once that most of us do not want Obama to commit an act of war against Syria. Furthermore, the people inundated Congress with calls and emails. Because of this (and in some cases personal conviction), most members of Congress also do not want war with Syria. Obama got the message: he was heading for sure defeat in the House of Representatives and perhaps in the Senate. He couldn’t bear the prospect of rebuff.  Russian president Vladimir Putin gave him a graceful way out. Because the people didn’t want war, when a possible diplomatic solution arose, Obama had to go for it. The people gave him no choice.”

Two Huge Victories in Colorado for the Second Amendment

“Even though there had never been a successful recall in Colorado history, and even though advocates of gun rights were targeting Senators in two districts that voted overwhelmingly for Obama, and even though the statists had a huge money advantage, what mattered most was that voters did not want their gun rights eroded by politicians.  Polling data shows the American people would engage in massive civil disobedience if politicians tried to ban guns. But it’s also comforting that voters also are willing to overcome heavy odds to knock off politicians who push for any type of gun control.”

Two Colorado lawmakers lose recall elections over support for gun laws

“Senate President John Morse of Colorado Springs and Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo lost their jobs as lawmakers in an election seen as a national measure of popular support for gun legislation. They were replaced by two gun-rights Republicans.  Angered by new limits on ammunition magazines and expanded background checks, gun rights activists filed enough voter signatures for the recall elections – the first for state legislators since Colorado adopted the procedure in 1912. The recalls prevailed despite some $3 million in contributions for the incumbents.  The recalls were the latest chapter in the national debate over guns – and, for some, a warning to lawmakers in swing states.”

Is it time to get rid of the DEA?

“There is no doubt the agency should be reformed. It is also worth asking if it should continue to exist.  According to a Reuters investigation, the DEA has been gathering information from other agencies, as well as foreign governments, for years. The DEA has also been collecting its own arsenal of data; constructing a massive database with about 1 billion records.  This information is shared in secret. By hiding the origins of its data from defense attorneys, prosecutors and judges, the agency and its partners effectively are undermining the right of the people it targets to a fair trial.”

Who Are the Real Anarchists?

“While we can look back to Étienne de La Boétie to find some early writings on the subject, the nineteenth century produced numerous serious anarchist thinkers from Molinari to Proudhon in Europe and Spooner and Tucker in the United States. These nineteenth-century theorists would eventually be popularized and employed by Murray Rothbard in what has come to be known as anarcho-capitalism, the anarchist tradition of private property and free association.  One can certainly debate Rothbard’s anarchist influence among Tea Partiers themselves, but the importance of Rothbard’s anarcho-capitalist thought within the larger libertarian movement is noteworthy.”

Mises’ Answer to Would-Be Conspirators: You Will Lose

portallogo3

“The heart, mind, and soul of Austrian school economics is this: the free market provides better information and better incentives to satisfy customers than any rival system can ever offer. Therefore, the free market will grow at the expense of central planning. The decentralized decisions of people with money — decisions informed by market pricing — will be more accurate than the centralized decisions of any committee. This is why I really do not pay a lot of attention to the Bilderberg, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Trilateral Commission. Ultimately, they are going to lose, just as their British equivalents and predecessors lost, 1914-1945. The digital genie is out of the bottle.”
