Trump Administration Testing Driver/Passenger Facial Recognition Program

“The facial recognition technology being developed for the pilot program will be capable of identifying the driver, front passengers, and the passengers riding in the back.  The CBP currently operates facial recognition exit programs at almost a dozen international airports in the United States. Colleen Manaher, the CBP’s executive director of planning, program analysis and evaluation, told the Statesman that travelers have been accepting of the technology and noted that ‘we can thank the Apples and the Googles for that.'”

“The robot cop — but not RoboCop — can determine when a violation has occurred on the road, and it can take various actions.  It can refer the case to a local speed camera or another connected sensor for corroborating evidence. It could also begin a pursuit of the vehicle in question, or if it’s something simple like a warning or a speeding ticket, it can just wirelessly communicate the violation directly to the offending vehicle, which can respond with an image of the driver’s license to ensure the ticket reaches the right person.”

A War On Opioids Is A War On Suffering People
