“CO Rep. Diana DeGette (D) didn’t seem to understand the obvious basics of how firearms work, all the while being a lead sponsor on a federal ban of high-capacity magazines. As you can see in the video above, the Congresswomen seems to think magazines and ammunition are somehow one and the same and that after their initial use will no longer exist. Responding to a citizens question about what he is to do now that he is at a disadvantage for having to change magazines, DeGette stated with a condescending smirk, ‘The good news for you, you live in Denver. The [Denver Police Department] would be there within minutes.'”

Fast food workers stage surprise strike in New York City

“The coalition of striking workers includes employees of McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, KFC and other major chains, as well as community and clergy groups dedicated to improving the lives of low-wage workers in the mostly non-unionized field of restaurant work. One of the main organizing groups behind the strike told CNN that dozens of workers walked off the job at the Times Square McDonald’s and that the Flatbush Avenue Burger King in Brooklyn barely opened its doors on time Thursday morning. The workers are asking for a minimum pay of $15 an hour and the right to organize and collectively bargain without fear of firing or retaliation.”

Commentator Donna Brazile Gets Obamanized (Note: Very Painful)

“Donna Brazile, apologist for everything Obama, syndicated columnist, television political commentator on CNN and ABC, is bitching about her soaring healthcare insurance premium. She doesn’t know why it is going up. I’ve covered some of the why here and here, but the short and long answer is Obamacare. Below is her ‘health care works’ cheering on of ACA via a tweet last year, underneath that is a tweet from her today where she is bitching about her healthcare premium climbing and not getting a good answer as to why it is going up. She still doesn’t seem to get that she has been Obamanized.”

TSA officer hits six colleagues after mistaking pepper spray for laser pointer

“Six security officers at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport landed in hospital after being hit by pepper spray — fired by one of their own. According to a report in the New York Post, quoting an unnamed source, an agent was ‘playing around’ with what he and other agents thought was just a laser pointer when it suddenly emitted spray. The TSA has suffered a series of embarrassing recent news reports, ranging from failure at Newark International Airport to detect a fake bomb carried by an undercover government agent, to complaints of overzealous searches.”
Bernanke Saying He’s Dispensable Suggests Tenure Ending
“Rates have been low for so long that they have continued to facilitate rash borrowing. Now rates literally cannot be lifted without causing extreme pressure on US disbursements. Second, to keep rates down, Bernanke has virtually doomed the Fed to perpetual monetary debasement. No matter what happens, boom or bust, the Fed will need to promote huge inflationary programs. Perhaps it is unfair to Ben Bernanke, but anyone examining the totality of his actions and their likely result would be tempted to come to the conclusion that he wants to leave before the proverbial house of cards comes tumbling down.”

Newly Hired Detroit Emergency Manager Has Some Financial Issues Of His Own

“Records show that the new Detroit emergency financial manager, Kevyn Orr, has some unpaid taxes and two liens on his Maryland home. Orr has apparently not paid $16,000 in unemployment taxes. A spokesman for Governor Rick Snyder, who recommended Orr for the job, tells the Detroit News that there was an oversight by an accountant hired to file taxes for Orr. The spokesman says Orr has researched the issue and will pay in full as soon as possible. Some opponents of the EFM say it’s interesting that Orr believes he can manage Detroit when he’s having trouble handling his own affairs. Orr was part of the legal team that worked on Chrysler’s bankruptcy.”

U.S. calls on UN to ban drunken diplomats from budget negotiations

“The assembly’s budget body, the Fifth Committee, holds marathon negotiations in December each year on spending and national contributions. These often last all night for several days in a row so that a vote can be held before the end of year holidays. Some envoys have turned up for talks ‘falling down drunk,’ said one diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity. ‘On one occasion the note-taker who was meant to be recording the talks was so intoxicated he had to be replaced,’ said another. Both spoke on condition of anonymity.”
Maxine Waters: EVERYONE in America Will Lose Their Job Because of Sequestration
“If Congress allows sequestration cuts to take effect, more than 170 million Americans could lose their jobs, according to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) ‘If sequestration takes place, that’s going to be a great setback. We don’t need to be having something like sequestration that’s going to cause these job losses — over 170 million jobs that could be lost,’ Waters said.”

Subway Founder: ‘Wouldn’t Exist’ If Started Today Due to Regulations, Then Calls For Min. Wage Hike

“Deluca said the environment for entrepreneurs in the U.S. has ‘continuously gotten worse because there are more and more regulations. It’s tough for people to get into business, especially a small business.’ The Subway founder pointed to a number of government regulations that are degrading the business environment for entrepreneurs. Examples include the Affordable Care Act, an increase in the minimum wages and the end of the payroll tax holiday. The Affordable Care Act is ‘the biggest concern of our franchisees,’ Deluca said. ‘They don’t know what to expect. It’s causing a lot of concern, but that too will be passed on to the consumer.'”
