“While in college in 1999, he founded MemoryDealers.com, a site that sells discounted computer parts. Clients past and present include HP, Cisco and Vodafone. He’s a self-confessed ‘voluntaryist’ who believes that the government should have no control over your money. In 2000, he ran for California State Assembly as a Libertarian and came under fire for calling the ATF bureau a ‘bunch of murderers’. He then served 10 months in federal prison for selling firecrackers used by farmers to scare deer and birds away from their cornfields. However, he believes he was made a target because of his comments on the ATF. He moved to Tokyo after his federal probation ended.”

Bill Bonner: Davos Without the Hookers (Part II)
“‘Look, let’s start at the beginning. There are only two ways to get what you want in this life. You take it by force and violence. Or you get it peacefully… by making, trading, and cooperating with others. That’s true of material wealth. It’s true of stuff. It’s true of power and status. And it’s as true of sex as it is of everything else. You can get it by negotiation… or you can get it by brute force. So, let’s try to agree on the basics. Wouldn’t you all agree that we’re better off generally if stick with consensual, peaceful, cooperative ways to get what we want in life?’ The audience was quiet.”

Bitcoin’s Real Revolution Isn’t Hard Money, It’s Economic Panarchy
“Bitcoin’s real contribution to the world is its source code. The blockchain, the network protocol, the cryptographic verification — anyone can take this and build a currency with any economic properties their community needs. There is no perfect monetary system for every situation. Bitcoin is not going to be the one world currency, and it doesn’t need to be. A lot of people compare Bitcoin to the Internet, but it’s more like CompuServe. It’s the first of many digital, non-state currencies to come, that will all interoperate with each other in ways we can’t even dream of yet.”

Bureaucrats Against Healthcare Access: Remote Area Medical
“Remote Area Medical (RAM), a Tennessee-based charity that is completely privately funded, offers a glimpse of what voluntary health care might look like. The group treats all comers at free, weekend clinics dotted across the country. At a typical event, over a thousand patients arrive in the wee hours of the night to make sure they get a spot in line. Many drive for hours and sleep in their cars. But rather than welcome the organization, which operates at no cost to taxpayers, most state governments actively impede their efforts. Unfortunately, few states allow health workers licensed in other states to see patients—even when they are working for free.”

An Evening in Satoshi Forest
“By combining permaculture, food forests, and aquaponics, Satoshi Forest will not only be a sanctuary for the homeless where they can sleep undisturbed from local authoritarian figures, but a self-sustaining ecosystem that provides food to feed those in need. Because of the low impact style of food forests, the upkeep is optimized and food output high once it gets growing. Satoshi Forest is more than just a place for people to camp and grow their own food; it is the answer to the question, ‘Who will feed the poor?’ The people voluntarily participating in the counter economy and Bitcoin-fueled markets have already proven how effective mutual aid combined with direct action is.”

Peer-to-Peer Economy Thrives as Activists Vacate the System
“Progressives may call it the ‘sharing economy’ while Libertarians may refer to it as Agorism – a ‘society in which all relations between people are voluntary exchanges by means of counter-economics, thus engaging in a manner with aspects of peaceful revolution.’ Together, they’re opting out of the current socioeconomic matrix and creating a new alternative economy where trading occurs peer-to-peer and increasingly without government-issued currency. It’s a space where mutual trade occurs without burdensome taxes, regulations, or licenses, an underground black market enabled by the Internet and regulated by social feedback mechanisms — and it’s growing exponentially.”

Group aims to give out free shotguns in 15 cities
“The group is called the Armed Citizen Project, and as, their name says they want to arm citizens by giving them shotguns. They aim to give out shotguns to people in fifteen cities including Chicago. The group’s founder says they give the free guns to people living in medium to high crime areas so they can defend themselves from criminals. Kyle Coplen founded the group based on his belief that guns are the ultimate deterrent to would-be criminals. In Houston, Coplen says he hopes to arm one fourth of the neighborhood where his group is now giving away guns. Then signs would be put up warning criminals that the neighborhood is armed.”

Group Pays Bond For Tulsa State Fair Worker Busted In ‘Hello Kitty’ Sting
“A group of Tulsans has banded together to help a carnival worker put in jail for bending the rules on the midway. Frank Feikema was busted by undercover deputies over the weekend. Now, a citizens’ group has raised the money to bail him out of jail. They are paying bond for a man they’ve never met. ‘Someone being put in jail and a $500 bond for doing something that people do every day, which is exchange goods and services, I thought was ridiculous,’ said T.C. Ryan. ‘My heart just kind of went out to the guy,’ said Rosemary Daugherty. ‘We just kind of wanted to help out – that simple.’ In one day, the group raised the $500 needed to bail the carnival worker out.”
