Ukraine Security Chief Blasted for Targeting Jews

“Eduard Dolinsky, the director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, made the accusation on Facebook against Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, head of the Security Service of Ukraine, after Nalyvaichenko said his organization needed to base its work on the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, or UPA, which murdered thousands of Jews in the 1940s.  Dolinsky also said that  the security service under Nalyvaichenko published a list ‘that consisted entirely of Jewish surnames’ of people allegedly responsible for the famine that killed millions in Ukraine in the 1930s.  Earlier this month, the Ukrainian Parliament passed a bill that opened the door to state recognition of UPA, previously a taboo because of  widespread war crimes.”

Greece demands €278bn WWII reparations from Germany

“Germany owes Greece no less than €278.7 billion in World War II reparations, Athens said, referring to the destruction wrought upon the nation during the Nazi occupation. The sum exceeds Greece’s total debt of €240 billion to the EU.  The figure was calculated by a parliamentary committee and the Greek supreme court.  In response, Gabriel Sigmar, Germany’s economy minister and vice chancellor, described Greece’s demand as ‘stupid.’ Many Greeks blame Germany, as the country’s biggest creditor, for the tough austerity measures and record high unemployment it faced after getting two international bailouts total worth 240 billion euros.”

US Government Moves To Seize 139-Year-Old Family Gold Mines

“Earlier this month, officials with the Bureau of Land Management sent a letter ordering local miners working at the Sugar Pine Mining Claim in the Galice Mining District near Merlin, OR to vacate the property that locals have mined for the past 139 years.  The dispute centers around the Sugar Pine Mining Claim itself, which Congress set aside for local miners in 1876, allowing them to establish their own rules and regulations.  The stakes are high, as The Blaze notes that the Galice Mining District has already yielded over 10 million ounces of gold, with experts saying that 90 million more ounces are available to be extracted.”

‘Civil war’ divides families in row over Greek goldmine

“The arrival in January of a new leftist government that opposes the investment has sparked a mobilisation among Hellas Gold employees afraid of losing their jobs.  Earlier this month, riot police were sent in when the rival groups came close to clashing in an oak forest between the villages of Stratoni, where Hellas Gold has its base, and Ierissos, whose inhabitants mostly oppose the project.  Hellas Gold plans to invest 1.3 billion euros in the area overall, and extract 9.6 million ounces of gold.  The previous conservative government had supported the investment, arguing that it would create hundreds of jobs in the recession-hit country where the unemployment rate now stands at over 25 percent.”

The job of being a police officer has become safer too, as the number of police killed by gunfire plunged to 33 last year, down 50% from 2012, to its lowest level since, wait for it, 1887, a time when the population was 75% lower than it is today.  So why are we seeing an ever increasing militarization of policing across the country?”

Police Deserve No Sympathy Until the Blue Line Breaks

All made the politically correct comments, but they still do not understand the problem. Consider Chief Flynn’s statement. his officers are ‘depressed’ because they’re ‘judged by the worst example.’ This is exactly how many citizens feel. Police officers routinely judge us ‘with the worst possible presumptions’ but then demand benefit of the doubt for their own actions.”

“One city attorney called his legal documents a ‘masterpiece of deception’ and has won 96 percent of his forfeiture cases.  An assistant district attorney takes property, even from owners who have been acquitted, because ‘people are not found innocent, they are found not guilty.’  One government official doesn’t want to disclose information about civil forfeiture, because it might become a ‘bullet-point for people that are trying to fight the program.’  A prosecutor teaches other attorneys how to take property from innocent people. NYC officials remove activists’ Snowden statue from Brooklyn park

“Dressed in reflective yellow construction gear while working under the cover of darkness early Monday, a small group of artists installed a tribute to NSA-leaker Edward Snowden in a Brooklyn park.  But it was gone by midday. A spokeswoman for New York’s Parks Department told Mashable earlier in the afternoon that they were looking into the statue’s removal. Shortly after that Vine’s Jeremy Cabalona posted video of NYC Parks Department workers covering up the Snowden statue with a blue tarp.”

The anti-pizzeria mob loses its mind

After which a local pol stood up and yelled ‘Encore!’ The good news is that a crowdfunding effort has raised/pledged nearly $50,000 to the O’Connors.  The bad news is that too many people are acting like sore winners, not merely content with the revolutionary step of removing state discrimination against same-sex couples in the legal recognition of marriage, but seeking to use state power to punish anyone who refuses to lend their business services to wedding ceremonies they find objectionable.”
