FDA Deputy Commissioner Sally Howard wrote the AGs that the ‘FDA intends to extend its authority over products that meet the statutory definition of ‘tobacco product.’’ The proposed rule to accomplish this is under review by the Office of Management and Budget, she said. ‘I can’t stress enough this is about protecting youth. A uniform policy by the FDA makes the most sense. That’s why our preference was to move forward in this direction,’ Jackley said of the AGs letter to the FDA.”
