“Rand Paul and Ron Paul, the dynamic duo of anti-Fed forces, invested a lot of time and money trying to get that legislation passed. But even if it reached Barack Obama’s desk, it would have been vetoed.  Of course, the Fed pushed back against the legislation. Fed Chairman Janet Yellen penned a letter to senators before the vote claiming that the legislation would deprive the Fed of necessary independence. She also noted that passing the legislation might generate an inflation scare and cause interest rates to rise. One wonders if this was a subdued threat.”

Trump warns UK that banning him would be an economic mistake

“Donald Trump is making good on his promise to ‘counterpunch’ anyone who crosses him — even if it means taking on the entire United Kingdom.  The United Kingdom’s proposed Donald Trump ban arose after Trump’s widely criticized call for a Muslim ban in the United States.  A petition circulating in the U.K. has earned more than 560,000 signatures calling for Trump to be turned away from Britain’s borders.  The Trump Organization warned that were the U.K. to take any action against its namesake, it would ‘force The Trump Organization to immediately end [investments in Turnberry] and all future investments we are currently contemplating in the United Kingdom.'”

George Soros Sees Crisis in Global Markets That Echoes 2008

After JFK was killed, Truman letter called for the abolition of CIA covert ops

“Four months later, former CIA director Allen Dulles paid Truman a visit. Dulles tried to get Truman to retract what he had written in the Post.  ‘No dice, said Truman,’ according to McGovern/Marcus.  But four days later, in a formal memo for Lawrence Houston, the CIA’s general counsel, Dulles fabricated a retraction. He claimed that Truman told him the Washington Post article was ‘all wrong,’ and that Truman ‘seemed quite astounded at it.’  Truman denied it. In a June 10, 1964, letter to Look magazine, Truman restated his critique of covert action, emphasizing that he never intended the CIA to get involved in ‘strange activities.'”

CIA director fumes over teen who hacked his AOL email account

“The head of the CIA says he was ‘outraged’ by a teenager’s hacking of his personal AOL email account.  Brennan didn’t explain why someone in his position still has an AOL account that a teenager was able to access.  The hacker said he used a reverse phone-number lookup to determine that Brennan has a Verizon Wireless account.  He then called the company, posing as a technician whose ‘tools were down’ to get details about the account, including Brennan’s AOL email address.  With that information, the teen called AOL and convinced a representative to reset the password, using Brennan’s personal details provided by Verizon.”
