“While the majority of rancher disputes are against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) the US Fish and Wildlife Service has been just as ruthless–in this case expanding the wildlife refuge at the expense of neighboring ranchers. This week I’ll detail the struggle of the Hammond family, and of Ammon Bundy the protest leader. When you read the litany of federal abuse of ranching families, you will better understand why some ranchers are staging an armed resistance.”

“This Is Government Land”: The Eternal Refrain of the Federal Occupiers

“Whatever else one might say about the CCF, the motives animating its occupation are much more commendable than those of the squatters who illegally occupied Harney County in the 1870s. The same Regime that made ‘settlers’ and ‘county fathers’ out of the first occupiers is determined to cage or kill the CCF in the service of the same principle expressed by the execrable Indian Agent William Rinehart: ‘This is government land'”

European Central Bank sued by 200 investors over Greek debt deal

“In a case which could pave the way for a raft of legal action from the private sector, a group of Italian retail investors are claiming damages in excess of €12m from the ECB for an alleged violation of its ‘equal’ creditor status during the biggest private sector debt restructuring in history in 2012. During the episode, the ECB was able to ‘swap’ its holdings of Greek government debt for protected bonds with no repayment date. The move ensured the ECB did not suffer losses from the deal to stave off a Greek bankruptcy in March 2012. Private sector creditors, however, were forced into accepting a 53.5pc ‘haircut’ on their holdings.”
Households lost from quantitative easing; gov’ts, big business won [2013]

“The big winners, to the tune of $1.6 trillion by the end of 2012, were the governments of the US, the UK and eurozone, from the reduced costs of servicing their debts and from the increased profits made by the their respective central banks (who magically create money to buy government debts which pay them interest). McKinsey believes that households have been significant losers from cheap money. How much have they lost? Well McKinsey says that from 2007 to 2012, the cumulative net loss of interest income for American households was $360bn, compared with a cumulative net loss of $160bn for eurozone citizens and $110bn (£70bn) for British people.”
Trump Promises Death For Killing A Cop, Endorses Police Militarization

“Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump received the endorsement of a New England union that represents police and corrections officers Thursday evening, and said that, as president, he would call for the death penalty for any person who kills a cop. Trump also expressed support for local police departments using military equipment, which the Obama administration has worked to curb following complaints about officers using riot gear and armored vehicles to confront protesters in Ferguson, Missouri. ‘We’ve got to let our police have the finest equipment and the finest training and if we don’t,’ he said, ‘we’re making a tremendous mistake as a country.'”
Officers on college campus begin carrying ‘assault rifles’

“The university said the move is necessary with the recent terror attacks in Paris and last week’s mass shooting in California. School officials also cited the recent rise in on-campus shootings. While some welcome the news, others do not think it is a great idea, including Mayor Marty Walsh. ‘I get worried about local police like that carrying those rifles. You need a lot of training and certainly it begins a slippery slope,’ said Walsh. The school has more than 60 police officers and 20 of them will be armed with the rifles. Students on campus had mixed reactions to the change.”

Police Officers Took 1,196 American Lives in 2015
“It is important to note that this number only includes the reported killings. Most police misconduct goes entirely unreported. For all anybody knows, the actual number could be anywhere between 2,000-3,000. At least 27% of the people killed by police were suffering from mental illness, and instead of getting the help they needed, they were exterminated. On the other hand, the number of police officers who were killed by gunfire has dropped dramatically — a nearly 15% reduction compared to previous years. It is therefore puzzling as to why cops and their mainstream media lapdogs continue to insist that there is a ‘War on Cops’ in America.”

Did you know police have their own Bill of Rights?
“14 states have laws on the books guaranteeing a bill of rights for cops (and sometimes also correctional officers who are under investigation by their superiors. As many as 11 other states are considering similar legislation, and many of the rest have written essentially the same rights and privileges into their contracts with the police unions. A bill calling for adoption of a national LEOBoR is pending in Congress, and is re-introduced often. LEOBoR is the original Bill of Rights with an upgrade, assuring police officers treatment that they themselves do not consistently offer to suspects they are questioning.”
The Logic of the Police State

“A closer look at law enforcement arguments against commonsense reforms like independently investigating police violence, demilitarizing police forces, or ending ‘for-profit policing’ reveals a striking disregard for concerns of just about any sort when it comes to brutality and abuse. What this ‘debate’ has revealed, in fact, is a mainstream policing mindset ready to manufacture fear without evidence and promote the belief that American civil rights and liberties are actually an impediment to public safety. In the end, such law enforcement arguments subvert the very idea that the police are there to serve the community and should be under civilian control.”

But For Video: Cop On Cop Action
“Now that the video has been revealed, a year after Noel Aguilar was murdered on the street because one deputy got shot by another deputy, and so they were entitled to kill one person who happened to have nothing to do with it, it turns out that every assumption the system force feeds the public was a lie. That one cop shot another cop, so they both murdered a guy named Noel Aguilar, never makes its way into the official narrative, except when there’s video. The only concern for Aguilar was to make sure he was smeared as thoroughly as his criminal history allowed.”
