US issues global travel alert over Al Qaeda threat, prepares to close embassies

“The State Department issued a worldwide travel alert on Friday to U.S. citizens over an Al Qaeda terror threat as Washington prepared to close its embassies and consulates throughout the Muslim world this Sunday over security concerns.  U.S. officials have not offered many details on the nature of the threat, but apparently are taking it seriously.  A White House official said Friday night President Obama was being updated on ‘a potential threat occurring in or emanating from the Arabian Peninsula.’ ‘There is a significant threat stream and we’re reacting to it,’ said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.”

Ron Paul on New Egyptian War: Americans Lose, Again

Likewise, the Muslim Brotherhood-led government that was deposed by the military last week was very critical of what it saw as US support for the coup. Why is it that all sides in this Egyptian civil war seem so angry with the United States? Because the United States has at one point or another supported each side, which means also that at some point the US has also opposed each side. It is the constant meddling in Egyptian affairs that has turned Egyptians against us, as we would resent foreign intervention in our own affairs.”

California police slammed with death threats after shooting Max the Rottweiler

“The social media fallout from the Sunday shooting has the Hawthorne Police Department scrambling to protect its officers and also tell another version of the story. Police released a new video of the shooting taken from a different angle. They believe this alternative perspective will prove to viewers that the officer’s actions were justified. Max the Rottweiler was shot four times on Sunday after lunging at officers who were handcuffing his owner, Leon Rosby. The original graphic cellphone recording of Max’s death went viral on YouTube, prompting a flood of threats against the officers and their families through telephone, email and Facebook.”

The Real National Security Interest of America

How such an indirect, tortuous, and demonstably dangerous path achieves the common good of Americans is a deep mystery. It is beyond belief that the McCains in the Senate think they can improve other countries when they cannot even identify America’s common good and take steps domestically to improve that good. Can Senator McCain explain how the U.S. involvements in Vietnam, Iraq, Libya, Somalia and Afghanistan have furthered the common good of Americans?”

Drone strikes are an order of magnitude deadlier to Afghans than manned aircraft

“A study conducted by a US military adviser has found that drone strikes in Afghanistan during a year of the protracted conflict caused 10 times more civilian casualties than strikes by manned fighter aircraft. The new study, referred to in an official US military journal, contradicts claims by US officials that the robotic planes are more precise than their manned counterparts. It appears to undermine the claim made by President Obama in a May speech that ‘conventional airpower or missiles are far less precise than drones, and likely to cause more civilian casualties and local outrage’.”

US Marines Put On Alert To Move Into Egypt Amid Violent Protests

“Amid anti-government demonstrations planned for this weekend, roughly 200 combat-capable U.S. Marines in southern Europe have been put on an alert status should they need to protect the U.S. Embassy or American citizens in Egypt, CNN is reporting. The Marines were told to be ready to deploy within an hour, and would be flown in via MV-22 Osprey, the Marine Corps’ rapid deployment aircraft.  A state department spokesman told CNN that the move is precautionary, and that the U.S. fully expects the Egyptian security forces to be able to protect the American diplomatic facilities.”

Homeland Security Is A Racket Twice Over

Actually, since the DHS’s activities actively invade everyone’s rights, it is a racket thrice over. None of us would have any expectation of systematic terrorism against Americans in America if there were not a U.S. empire that systematically intrudes in lands where it doesn’t belong. Retaliations from these places take time, sometimes decades. The U.S. is breeding new terrorists all the time and in more and more places.”
