“The George W. Bush administration put the Continuity of Operations plan into effect for the first time directly following the September 11 attacks. The Bush administration did not acknowledge the implementation of the COG plan until March 1, 2002.  On July 18, 2007, Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR), a member of the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security, requested the classified and more detailed version of the government’s continuity of government plan in a letter signed by him and the chairperson of the House Homeland Committee, which is supposed to have access to confidential government information. The president refused to provide the information.”

Obama quietly extends post-9/11 state of national emergency

“Twelve years after the worst terrorist attack in American history, President Obama yet again extended his predecessor’s Declaration of National Emergency for another year. The declaration, which was originally put into place on September 14, 2001, was renewed on Tuesday.  Shortly after he renewed the declaration of a national emergency, President Obama obliquely hinted at the gradual accumulation of executive power in his speech on the Syria crisis. The past decade, he said, ‘put more and more war-making power in the hands of the president.'”

Navy Yard Shooter Used Shotgun, Media Pushes ‘Assault Weapon’ Ban

“After the tragic shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C. yesterday, the media was quick to jump on the anti-gun bandwagon. The dust hasn’t even settled, and Senator Dianne Feinstein is already calling for a new ‘assault weapon’ ban.  The media has been focusing on how the shooter was found with a 9mm pistol and an AR-15 ‘assault rifle’. But, is this just an attempt to demonize the popular sporting rifle used by civilians? NBC News4 reported that the shooter used a shotgun to commit the crime. The shooter later armed himself with weapons that he took from his victims.”

Meanwhile, pass laws that double (and soon, will triple) the fuel economy of the average non-hybrid car – knowing that will provide even more excuse to whine about all the ‘revenue’ lost.
Then hit them up with the notion of a tax-per-mile. It will not even be necessary to discuss the means by which it’ll be implemented. That will follow almost automatically.”

For decades we have pursued this immoral course of action, asking American men to die fighting an enemy the American government has financed.'”

Obama admin. sends guns to Syria…without background checks

“Have these rebels, who reportedly have ties to terrorist groups, gone through background checks?  Does this transfer of light weapons and munitions to Syrian rebels go against the grain of the United Nations’ Small Arms Trade Treaty, which the president has said he supports and would sign?  There have been allegations that the Syrian rebels have strong connections to al Qaeda, the same organization that claimed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks in 2001, and has been linked to last year’s Benghazi attack, and we’re giving these people weapons?  Does it seem that the president is [little] concerned about putting guns in the hands of people whose idea of justice is public execution?”

Egypt’s interim authorities extend state of emergency

Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri calls for U.S. attacks and economic boycott

Arming Terrorists and Disarming Americans

“The Obama administration’s plan to provide small arms to the Syrian Rebels was approved by Congress. Good luck finding the transcripts of these committee meetings though… they were classified. When asked about the Senate Intelligence Committee’s vote to arm the rebels, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), the committee chair, responded ‘It’s classified.’ (Which is a polite way of saying ‘it’s none of your business’) That’s right. Dianne Feinstein — the author of the ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban – doesn’t believe that the American people have a right to know who the government is giving small arms to. That oversight requirement apparently only should apply to American citizens.”

Syria rebel chief rejects U.S.-Russia chemical weapons deal
