IRS office under fire: Vote for Obama stickers, campaign cheerleading

“In one case the Office of Special Counsel, which investigates federal employees who conduct politics on government time, said it was ‘commonplace’ in a Dallas IRS office for employees to have pro-Obama screensavers on their computers, and to have campaign-style buttons and stickers at their office.  In another case, a worker at the tax agency’s customer help line urged taxpayers ‘to re-elect President Obama in 2012 by repeatedly reciting a chant based on the spelling of his last name,’ the Office of Special Counsel said in a statement.  Another IRS employee in Kentucky has agreed to serve a 14-day suspension for blasting Republicans in a conversation with a taxpayer.”

Obama ‘deeply concerned,’ warns Russia against Ukraine intervention

“‘We are now deeply concerned by reports of military movements taken by the Russian Federation inside of Ukraine,’ he told reporters.  ‘Any violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity would be deeply destabilizing,’ he said in a brief appearance. ‘The United States will stand with the international community in affirming that there will be costs for any military intervention in Ukraine.’  The U.N. Security Council called an emergency session for later on Friday at the request of Ukraine’s new leaders, who warned the country’s territorial intergrity was threatened.  Any armed confrontation in Crimea would have major global repercussions.”

Out of the ‘Shadows’: Pot Sellers Can Now Do Business With Banks

“The Obama administration issued new rules Friday intended to ease the concerns of banks wanting to deal with businesses that legally sell marijuana.  While 20 states and the District of Columbia have passed laws allowing the sale of medical and recreational marijuana, its production, sale, and possession remain illegal under federal law. And because the federal government regulates banking transactions, marijuana dealers have been unable to get banks to do business with them.  As a result, dealers operate strictly with cash, creating a tempting target for thieves. Treasury officials say the revised rules should reduce the dangers associated with conducting an all-cash business.”

ACLU to Obama: No, You Can’t Just Murder an American Overseas

Feds Float Trial Balloon; ‘Consider’ Targeting American In Drone Strike

“An American citizen who is a member of al-Qaida is actively planning attacks against Americans overseas, U.S. officials say, and the Obama administration is wrestling with whether to kill him with a drone strike and how to do so legally under its new stricter targeting policy issued last year.  The CIA drones watching him cannot strike because he’s a U.S. citizen and the Justice Department must build a case against him, a task it hasn’t completed.  Four U.S. officials said the American suspected terrorist is in a country that refuses U.S. military action on its soil and that has proved unable to go after him.”

It nationalized private retirement funds – to ‘protect’ them, of course.  And now, the president aims to ‘protect’ US retirees in the same way.”
