ICE gains access to database that tracks license plates in realtime

“Using the database, ICE agents will be able to see where license plates have been located over the past five years, as well as find individual’s residences, according to The Verge.  Officials can also be instantly alerted when new records of specific plates are located.  Civil liberties groups slammed ICE’s access to the database.”

72yo Grandma Shot Dead as SWAT Raided Her Home For Marijuana

“A Bartlesville SWAT team executed a search warrant to bust Livingston for the alleged sale of marijuana.  When the heavily armed and likely militarized men kicked in the door to their home, Townsend, likely not knowing who her home invaders were, picked up a pellet gun and fired off two pellets. A Bartlesville officer then shot and killed her.”

Border Patrol defends raid of Greyhound bus, deportation of grandmother

“Customs and Border Patrol agents entered and began asking passengers to demonstrate proof of citizenship.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection official [sic] say its agents routinely engage in enforcement operations at transportation hubs within the state of Florida. As for the woman removed the bus on Friday, border agents discovered she had overstayed her tourist visa. She was arrested and transported to the Dania Beach Border Patrol station and later turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) for removal proceedings.”
